has any one ever broken a head set , cause i cracked mine badly on tuesday and i was wondering if it is a rare occurense or not cause ive never heard of ne one craking one. i think its just the way i thrash my bike???

that is weird, what headset? how/where did it break? was it loose?

If you cracked a headset cup then no, that isn't strange at all, happens all the time, mostly with cheaper headsets.

hmm i've never heard of it... i spose cheapo ones might, but cheapo everything will break.

yeah ive cracked a head set cup before but you have to be a little more specifiec.

what the sealed bearings cracked though or sumfin.

my headset is farked aswell....both me, and all the people i ride with cant figure out what the fark is wrong with it??? ive tightened it up, put different spaces in it, longer and hoter stems, and still its rooted, whats goin on?????

i had to fix his bike it was a cheapo one that came stock on the 2002 norco 125's so nothin great and this guy kills bike parts so i aint surprised.

I've smashed an FSA Pig DH headset lower cup before. That takes a really high jump to dead flat landing, though...

Hard to say without looking at it, take it to your LBS, they're generally good at this sort of thing :wink: . Possibilites though: cracked/split cup, ovalised headtube (pray it isn't), not enough spacers, you've lost the expanding wedge....this is all based on the assumption that by "farked" you mean constantly loose. Might pay to be a little more specific.
