hey guys, im not sure if this is the right section for this, but ill ask anyway.
dose anyone have any suggestions on make sequence pictures, (an example is the latest AMB centre fold) in photoshop
i made one before, but it was bloody hard and im sure there must be easier ways, such as just fading the pictures together or something.
cheers all.

ahh, thats the one, ill edit that, so that people know what the fark im on about.
ok this is probably the oppsite of the way you want to do it but.
to do that we used a 2.5 second shutter opening time with a wide ass aperture, then we got a 75 watt strobe with an adjustable fash timer and about 40 meters of extention cord, and then one person to take the pic and another to move the strobe around so it lit the rider better.
...real photography.

ive already got the photoes, i just need to sore of mold them together in photo shop, i did the last one by just copying the rider (while he was in the air) and putting it on the other background.
i thought there might be a way of layering them over each other or something like that.
cheers anyway

after the first pic, i havent done it, but would it make sense to make the second to last picture about 50% transperant then drag it ontop of the other? just a guess because i dont have photoshop

Well in theory, if all the frames in the sequence were not overlapping. You could just layer the pictures on top of each other in photoshop, and erase the parts where you want other layers to show up. This would take you 5 minutes approx. though as I said the frames couldn't over lap, though most sequence pics don't have faded/overlapping frames anyway.
I don't know of any other way, since I have never done it, but if I was having my first try I would do that.
Quite possibly there is some sort of colour keyer or chroma setting that could allow it to be instantly overlayed, but yeh that could take a lot of messing around if you didn't already have a pre-set for it.

you could use mask's. but each frame would have to the same (background) other wise it would look weird. other than that im not sure.

hey mate i have done tonnes of these sequences before for snow skate surf and mx and it is realtively easy just can be time consuming.
The easist way i found was to start with the first and last frame. Join these up (assuming there is some overlap) so that you have an overall background ie as far left as you want to see and as far riht as you want to see. Then it is just a matter of grabbing each frame in between and lining it up with the already established background, then masking out all the bits you don't want ie. everything bar bike and rider.
It can get quiet tricky if the sequence has been shot with a fisheye lens due to the warping but is still achievable
that's brief, so hit me with any q's and i may be able to help.

yeah pretty much you just have to do it by hand.
my process...
1> lay down first layer
2> lay down next layer at 50% opacity, line it up with the previous layer
3> erase the part of the layer that covers rider in the previous frame back up to 100% opacity
4> repeat step 2>3 until done.
heres a crappy one off video.

well, i might've cheated a tad but it was kinda easy for me whe i did it, basically i used the sequence shot feature on a mates expensive camera and used photoshop to cut strips invlving the rider out of each individual image and line them up next to each other so they fitted together perfectly. it was easy and you have to be going fast enough to cause no overlap between the rider and his backgorund each time. heres my effort, it was fun too!

yea, i wanna make one were the riders are sort of overlapping each other, i made one by just copying the rider and placing in on the first picture were its meant to be, but that wont work if the riders are too close.
ill try fiddle with it a little more, cheers for the responces, and any other help people will give is appreciated, its sort of hard to explain this shit on the net ay.

you could always, go and buy a pentax camera, and get the 'AC-Dsee' software, and it does it for you, you can also make 360 degree ones there pretty cool :P ..

I use a program called Microsoft Picture It, it's not the best software but its easy to use. all you do is open the main picture then all the other ones and select the object and cut and paste it into the first picture
