Can you just get one of those flexible tubes that scews onto your valve, similar to those you had to use with old pumps? Ill try and find a pic of one..

well that ones a special 05 model shock. so you cant.
aand why would you have to keep putting air in it? doesnt the air stay in the shock?

the shocks slowly lose air.....thats not a special 05 model shock, they are on this years DH team and comp in the US

you need a new shock - i believe.
with a "Remote Reservoir" (sp?)

so to answer your question, that would be a bike shop.

I got an 04 dh comp and it is true, the air leaks out and you have to keep putting air in it every so often and it is a real pain. You can get a shock pump onto it but its damn hard. Its a pain to take the shock completely out too. The 04 models in the US came with the external resevouir, which would be awsome.
I thought of the idea that zigster said about the tube, but I was told that it would leak continually with the tube screwed on. So I never tried it. Could be worth a try though.

Apparently it would also expand the volume of the chamber in the shock.

This has been discussed here - http://farkin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17852&highlight=

it can be done but an Australian version of the 04 frame makes it difficult as it does not have the lugs welded on the the remote reservoir bolts on to.

The swingers should not leak significant amounts of air. If yours leaks all of the time. I'd be talking to the lbs and get a replacement.

Isn't the Manitou basically the same as a 5th element? I believe so. I've got a Bullit, with 5th, and for EVERY ride it recommends pumping up the air reservoir. They ALL lose some air - not much. Say if I put 100psi in, then a week later it will be at about 80 or so.

The 5th Element shock pump I have has a flexible hose, which is a great help in squeezing it in place. I dunno much about how the shock is placed in a DHComp, but maybe a 5th element pump is what you need?

nah kyle
u cant get it done on a 04 aussie frame. the US frame like u got the foto of has additional lugs welded on that the reservoir bolts on to and the australian DH comp frames dont have it. but im prety sure the 05 DH Comps will have it like the 04 US.

For Christ's sake someone post a pic of the shock AND the position of the valve as it is now. There really shouldn't be a problem extending the "plumbing" to a more convenient location. How many times do I have to tell you guys.... NOTHING is impossible.

PM me when the pic is up... topic notification isn't working and I'm sure to forget to come back and look.

I borrowed a mates DH comp for a while....you could probably just get an extra long hose to fit onto the pump ? either leave it with the pump (if you can put it on the shock when it needs air, or leave it on the shock if you had some way of making sure the air stayed in there !
