After giving "sound" medical advice about dislocations in this (http://www.farkin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18500&start=0&postdays=0&postorder =asc&highlight=) thread, it seems that karma has teamed up with my own body to come get me.
GRANT DONALD presented to the Emergency Department at Prince Of Wales Hospital at 18:17. The presenting problem was DISLOCATED RT SHOULDER.
The diagnosis was SHOULDER DISLOCATION, CLOSED.
This 18yo man who presented with his 5th episode of right shoulder dislocation. He states that this has happened on a number of occasions while playing volleyball - spike - which happened today. Usually the dislocations have reduced spontaneously but today he presented to ED an required SCAPULAR MANIPULATION to reduce the shoulder.
O/E clinically dislocated right shoulder
neurovascularly intact
Post-reduction X-ray was normal.
I'm out of action for a while now, once the swelling has gone down I start a series of muscle strengthening activities. Unfortuneatley including swimming - how I hate the water.
So no right arm for a few days, no city rides for a few weeks, and no volleyball for a few months (completely shattered)...
parallax is now "injured crew" :(
