Hey,

I have all of a sudden been getting alot of migrains and I am not sure what it is that's causing them and what I can do about it...

They just seem to come on at random and stay around for long periods of time.. I only started getting them about 2 weeks ago and before that, I have never had one before. It is usually sore around my left eye and about three weeks ago I got my left eyebrow peirced... I am starting to think it could be that?

Has anyone got any opinions on the matter?

Jayson.

I had migrains for a while, then went to the chiropractor, havent had one since. My grandma swears by the chiropractor for getting rid of her migrains! Maybe a possibility?

Drink plenty of water. When toxins build up in your body, from not drinking enough water, it can give you a migraine.

About a month ago I used to get one every day around lunchtime. So I drank lots of water and within a day of so it left.

Seeing as youre a Car Audio pusher, my advice would be to...
TURN THE DAMN MUSIC DOWN!

That might help solve the Migraines

Actually, Chiro's not a bad all round health solution, LivetoRide is on to something there.

It may just be a headache. A headache may be caused by many conditions, ranging from colds, stress to lack of food or sleep. The pain of a headache may be continuous or throbbing and may remain steadily or come and go. Headache which occurs together with other symptoms or signs may indicate a more serious condition. Typically the headache is intense and throbbing and occurs on only one side of the head.
Seek medical aid if you have any of the following symptoms:
Stiff neck
Head injury
Visual difficulties
Difficulty moving arms or legs etc.

A migrane is a particular type of headache. A migrane is a separate condition which can only be properly diagnosed by a doctor. The symptoms of a migrane are usually more severe than a common headache and may be incapacitating. some migranes are triggered by stress or environmental conditions. They may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting and visual disturbances.

Care for both is fairly similar. Take care to minimalise noise and light because you will be especially sensitive to these.

Thanks for the help guys, I might look into seeing a Chiropractor.

It started with a really painful one, lost alot of vision and couldn't focus on things, this lasted about 4-5 hours and since then they have all been on a smaller scale... Mainly a throbbing feeling around the outside of my eye and seems to go up into the left side of my head... I have a bit of a stiff neck at the moment.... :?

If you feel they are going away..
But the better half of me says to see a doctor. Pains like this are not normal and usually indicative of something not quite right. If you have another bad one, see a doctor straight away. For the moment I'd just drink plenty of fluids, make sure you have eaten, keep noise levels low and light minimal. And try and go to sleep. If it is possible to go to sleep at 7.30..

Sounds similar to what I get. Doc told me mine were migraine variants or something. They start with a sharp pain in my neck, then work up to my eyes. The typical 'headache' doesn't happen. Just this amazing pain around my eyes and in my neck.

They can start at any point, worst was when I was driving. Had to pull over and call my brother inlaw to come get me and the car. They suck. All I can do is sleep. I get headaches all the time. But thank christ I don't get migraines very often at all.

But yeah, see a doc at least then he can tell you what it cause is. Your body could be rejecting the piercing. I know that is fairly common with eye brows.

It amazes me the amount of medical, legal and financial advice that gets asked on a BIKE FORUM (says the guy who talks politics all the time..... ). Not a bad thing, just amazing really!

See a doc dude, your brain is important to you, so they say. A mate of mine (46yrs) thought he had migranes, held out for three months only to find that he had an extra capillary supplying blood to nowhere, causing a build up and puting pressure on his cortex. This had to be fixed with brain surgury, only surface stuff though. Moral is, seek professional help!!

Good luck with it, it truly must SUCK!!

It is usually sore around my left eye and about three weeks ago I got my left eyebrow peirced...
   ME TOO! but now i find it really hard to see anything out of my left eye
I got my eyebrow done and was DHing about 2 weeks after, fell off (with FF on) and when i got up i had i headace, went home and iced my head, then went to bed, woke up at like 3 the next morning and couldnt see (because it was so dark) so i turned the light on and everything was blury and i had a black eye so i went back to sleep.
Oh and its also friday the 13th today  :?
And im only joking about all the bullshit above. But seriously i used to get migrains and i got these prescription drugs that helped, the doctor will tell you to eat more and drink more water, but it dose help. Do your parents or grandparents get them? And maby cut down the amount of time on the PC and Telly.

Wow, so many different things to do... I've started to drink a whole heap of water, hopefully it will flush out my cold im getting aswell!

I've cut down on the loud music, I notice alot of sharp sounds make it worse so I resorted to some Stone Temple Pilots instead of Soilwork which has been on play the last week or so, LOL!

It seems weird but when I am at school it only really starts to come on when I whack my beanie on to go outside, also when I'm eating stuff like ice cream it goes away...

I will eat and drink lots and if they aren't gone by mid week I think I had better be off to Doc...

Thanks for all the help guys!
