Is there anyone on here that would be able to orgainise to open the gates on the wooden stuff at the yangs for a day or so, and is the high speed bridge close or not.

I got an e-mail about 5 seconds ago from GMBC saying

The next event will be taking place on the 30th and 31st October. Rego and practice will run all day Saturday with final practice and racing on Sunday. We hope to have at least one more vehicle than at the last race so as we can get more practice runs in for you guys. A flyer will be out shortly. Keep checking the website for updates. Also if anyone is interested in helping out on this weekend it would be hugely appreciated. The race was organised and run by about 6 people. It was a huge effort (especially considering they were all cross country people) and we are keen for some downhill riders to come on board and lend a hand. Check out Freewheel for coverage of the first You Yang’s downhill event.

So it'll be pretty big.

Cool! Time to start learning and honing some skills. If GMBC want a proper mobile coffee van down there for the day, I have a mate who operates one, known as 'The Perfect Cup'. Small percentage goes to GMBC. Normal coffee prices, and excellent coffee! pm me for details.

I know im dreaming, but id like to think that its do-able. I DEFINATELY wont be getting the number before you... unless it may make me scared and go faster.

The race should be good, it'll help having that extra shuttle bus aswell.

I was up there last weekend and noticed the start gate has been moved. It is now on the road right next to where the start of the last race was (hope that made sense...) Also they have built a cool left hand burm right after the start gate that shoots down into the track - it is pretty flat though so there will be alot of pedaling for the first 100m or so...

damn it, the race is the day before my unit 4 biology exam!

The new position of the startgate is...interesting. Personally I think the flat section is too long and will either leave you shagged for the rest of the run, or, if you don't go hard, leave you out of contention for high placings.
Also, the berm that leads into the fenced pathway is fine but that fenced pathway....that looks like decapitation central.
Anyways, it's stil la sick track and wish I could go up or the race :(

peaty said that you cruise for the top half then when it startes to get flowy and smooth you push it to the end other wise youll be buggered at the start and wont be able to give it your all over the finish line, how far back is it from the original place?

its probably about 20-30m, but its flatter so it will take it out of you if you push it...

You have to have a FUll Face or you aren't allowed to race.
Gloves, shinnies and other armour is also highly recommended.
