I'm going to have to get a new rear wheel built soon, and what rim to get is troubling me.
I want to stay with my 26/24 setup. Eventually the front will get a nicer rim than the dice twosix on there now, like a mavic 721 or 729 .
But the rear is a problem. Mavic don't make a 24" rim.
Sun MTX = not as heavy as I thought could be an option.
Sun/Intense Mag30 = heavy
Atomlab = heavy
Any ideas?
If all that is out there is big heavy rims like the above three, well I guess I'll go MTX's.

MTX is not heavy, it is almost the same weight as a single ride (track) which is close to a mavic 521. I would go with the mtx if it comes in 24inch.

You can get a Rhyno-Lite XL in 24 inch, but it may only be 36 hole :?

yeah...i had the same problem when decidin to get a 24 rear for my bighit,finished up opting for the MAG30(strength/weight ratio..its not that heavy compared to some :? ) .Looked at the MTX's,..was told they were considered in strength singletrack>>MTX>>mag30 ,as far as weight ?..not real sure(cave dweller might be right).
Atomlabs r heavy :)
cheers.

Yeah, sorry about that, the MTX is a lot lighter than I had assumed it would be...
Maybe it has to be an MTX then.
Ive got a single track 24" - sweet as - light and tuff!! :P
if you can wait a little Halo wheels from identiti will be here soon they have a good range of 24' ranging from 32 to 48 spoke sets as well as (at last ) a decent range of tyres to suit

on my le toy i ran 24" Sun BFR's... were pretty light and i had no troubles with them being weak. I managed to rip two eyelets out of my DT Onyx rear hub and the rim was still sweet...

I've run the mag 30s and they gave me no trouble. I have mtx rims now and they also seem to be rocking. Depends what yourdoing I guess. The Mag will take more abuse for sure.
