so where would i possibly find a 3 speed rear wheel hub suitable for disc brake fitting & DH-ability...???????

you know how you can just buy a 3 speed rear hub for a "back pedal" brakes kinda toy bike thingy??? Yeah???

well,,,,i`m onto a thought about a 3speed rear hub for down hill on my own design frame & was looking like goin the Rolloff thing, but it`s got way to many gears & is way too heavy & coasts way way way too much, simple as that!!!

so,,,who knows all???,,,who can help me???,,,do have to actually get it made???

does anyone really care???

:-)

Please tell me you know this guy that dah dee dah dee dah....

oh, and for the disc rotor carrier, you could always get one of those adapters that bolt to the spoke holes on the hub.

surney-archer 3 speed hub.

Use a disk brake adaptor on the left side hub flange, like the ones at phantom.

Thanks Guys...are they the only ones that make internal gear rear hubs tho???

& Roasted,,,it`s "Sturmey-Archer",,,

I`ve heard & seen the "Rollolf" (spelling?) but it`s a big fat heavy "THING" that i`m trying to get away from,,,i really want a much lighter assy & way less gears as 3 or 4 is all that`s needed for DH, but would they do a onbe off for me maybe?

any ideas as to their web site & actually proper spelling???

cheers & thanks for the help guys,,,it might sound silly to you all, but i`m hoping it won`t be that silly at all once it`s all finished

surney-archer 3 speed hub.

Use a disk brake adaptor on the left side hub flange, like the ones at phantom.

they are for older bikes, i have one in my dragster, and they are a bit dodgy and wouldn't be suitable for a new bike...

The new nexus are 8 speeds and look fairly chunky. Most of them (shimano, sram + others) will have back pedal brakes but if you don't attach the torque arm then i am fairly sure the brake won't engage.

I have my fingers crossed that rohloff will be showing an 8 speed 12mm through axle 135mm rear hub at interbike. If they do I'm getting one for sure.
