OK, as most of you know, I've just started riding as a messenger again after a lay off of a year or so.
problem is, now I'm getting baboon butt like you wouldn't believe.
my ass looks like a playground for big men called Bubba.
does anyone have a good remedy for this problem.
yes i wear knicks, or touring shorts.
yes i use talc.
yes i will delete any moronic responces.
thanks
amb (not the magazine)

i saw the anti monkey butt post before.
i was kinda hoping for something that wouldn't require my sending to the states for it, and then having it held up customs while they check it for grated terrorist, all while costing me an arm, a leg, and a spare set of gonads for the pleasure and privilege.
was wondering if anyone here used anything else.

Nappy rash cream, or Assos cream, or any of the chamois treatments.
Lots of people (me included) use the Assos stuff for longer rides. It works as an anti-bacterial, as well as a very slight anesthetic and lube - and has a nice menthol smell/feel (can be darn cold at first).

Assos make a popular chamois cream, but I’ve never used the stuff, and thus can’t help you. Check it out though as I’ve heard good things.
edit: damn McBain :)

Pawpaw cream is great for getting rid of heat rash and chaffing.

Try not wearing knicks. I found that wearing tight fitting boxxers underneath cargo pants were better cos you got better ventilation and thus didn't collect moisture in that area which was what i found to cause the redness. This may require getting a softer seat due to not having and padding there

yeah, but then your boxers ride up yer arse, leaving you with nasty chafe.
I learnt that the hard way, after racing XC with a hoody, Jeans, flatties and a single front ring in the middle of spring 2003.
chamis treatments are the go.
also consider a diff. seat.

i'm going to look at a different seat next week.
the pawpaw cream sounds like a winner as well.
used some stuff called Triple B cream today with good results. supposedly it's for fat women to stop breast chaffing or something. seems to work though.
