View Full Version : Spelling cow is being a cow.... please help
Hi i'm having some serious issues with the stupid spell checker. When I click submit, it brings up the spell checker automatically. And it won't let me post until it's all been checked and corrected. I am pressing submit, and i've never even used the stupid checker in my life before. Can someone please tell me whats going on, im figuring its just me because no one else has complained about it?
I can't even send pm's to people... i've written out some really long ones, and I really don't want to correct all the didnts with "didn'ts" and stuff like that.
I've now got a whole stash of txt documents on my desktop of posts i was meant to posts and pm's that i was meant to pm (some of em pretty important, like buy/sell stuff)
Help me!!!!!!

okay so I kinda figured it out, just hold down ignore all and then its all good, but is there any way I can disable it all together? it's never done this before, just started a couple days ago!
In your profile, there's an option to turn it off.

amongst the buttons on spelling cow, there is one that simply says submit. i just click it straight up because my spelling is usually close enough, most times it only picks up appostrophes.
on this topic though, i tried to turn it off in my profile, infact it is currently set to off but it still comes up. SCOOOOOTTTT

Just turned it off in my profile.
Sweet it works.... why don't you set it as off by default or something.... come on most people use correct grammar and spelling on here.. most.

screw that.
Just lock it onto problem spellers. You guys do have the power to change a profile, right?

i almost said that in my previous post, i think it would be a good idea. use it as a punishment, because J.C. is it annoying.
What I think would be useful is a check box that allows you to disable spelling cow just for that post. It would fit in easily in the other check boxes you get (under heading Options) when making a reply. So when you are making a quick simple reply and you are confident with your speeling, you can skip the spell check.
My 2 cents.
Actually I'm just grateful to even have this site at all!!!!! Scott... you just sit back and take a load off.
don't get me wrong Grip, i love this site and am very grateful for the time put into it. I was simply make a suggestion like this forum invites.
