How many hours a day do you spend on Farkin?
bugger, the poll is missing 8+ for you farkin bludgers
I put 7-8hrs but only because on am online from the moment I get to work until the moment I leave. Obviously on the weekends it is a lot less because I don't have a PC.

6-7 hours sound about right. Roll in at 10ish, lunch from 1-2ish and then roll out at 5ish. Some days I go home and really forget what I get paid for.... bugger

there appears to be no box for 16hours.
from when i wake up (say, about 8am) till when i go to sleep (about midnight)
my pc is on whenever i'm awake, and i'm online whenever my pc is on, and i'm at farkin whenever i'm online.

i'll usually hit farkin.net and hcor.net for an hour or two if i have nothing better to do... I try and start fights sometimes, then i'll end up on the forums for a bit longer...

Time spent on Farkin is directly proportionate to the amount of work i have to do...
...unfortunately it's a very linear relationship

Thats true, for like a month I was just reading posts on here and not bothering to post because of the lack of interesting topics. I say bring on the newbie bashing and violence!!

The first noob to reply 'gravedig' gets an e-glassing in the throat.
I'm curious and I found a thread that sort of fits instead of starting a new one. How often do you spend on farkin each day/week and how much of it do you actually spend riding? I've done the calculations on my average week and farkin wins by a huge margin even though I ride 3-4 days a week. These may only be trips to the pub etc though.:o
So be honest, do you ride your bike as much as you should? It seems a great deal of information coming from this site comes from people who are more often than not spending more time on here than actually riding. (myself included) Should we limit our time on this site?
On the other side of the coin I have used this site to arrange rides with other farkers so does that cancel out the laziness in other times? I'm use this site on a daily basis now and I think I definately have a problem.
I may be making not a great deal of sense but do you see where I'm coming from?

Grave dig. With no useful information.
Nice one, Dave.
I obviously spend wayyy too much time on farkin. I spend most of the day at school on here, making an ass of myself. When I get home, I do the same.
Overall about 8-10 hours a day.
I ride about 8-10 hours a week. If that.

Surely everyone is going to say Farkin gets more airtime than riding, in reality it's the only way it really can be. Unless you're a pro and are getting paid to ride bikes (or a Whistler/Les Gets guide, I guess..), then you're going to spend significantly more time on Farkin. I try to ride my BMX every day (or close to every day) which probably gives me 15-20 hours/week on the BMX (on average), yet I still probably spend an average of 8 hours + on Farkin just because it's always open in a tab in my browser, so I'm always refreshing/viewing and getting distracted by it.
Uni lecture is boring? Farkin. Getting sick of searching job ads on Seek? Farkin. Bored? Farkin. Too lazy to ride? Farkin.

e-glassing you as we speak!
I'm genuinely interested as to how many of us actually ride our bikes and how many just sit on this site and talk about them? I love doing both but is there balance?

How much time do you actually spend drinking beer, and how much time is just talking about beer?
Oh wait.. Bad analogy.

In the scheme of things you probably don't want to know, but I think the drinking leads by a good margin.
As for your previous post, this was pretty much what I was looking for. I expect a vast majority will spend far more time here than riding, and as I said I do it too, especially to avoid uni work.

Work, internet, work, internet
How did we waste our time before computers
Or did computers give us more free time to waste
My wife asked me the other night if I was now addicted to the internet
I answered, um well, um, yes, I guess I am. But it's not as bad as drugs! :p

a hell of a lot less than i used to. I was previously addicted to "off topic" and would compulsively click the "New Posts" button till my mousing finger bled, but I must admit - the fascination is fading.
it has been replaced with a car forum that continues on with a lot of the same crap, but because membership is based on owning a <insert name of some european car brand>, the forum is not chocked up with 12 year olds trying to impress people with the size of their e-penis.
i still check out farkin almost daily, but am far less active. (was I ever really that active?) hmmmm

I put down 3-4 (in the polll) purely for the fact I don't like admitting to myself it's usually about 8. As most people say, it's just always open in a window, even if i'm doing other stuff i'll just come back to it while other pages load.
Reason being though is I work from 5pm-10pm, and then again from 2am-5am, and those 5 hours in between, unless with the girlfriend, are usually spent sitting on my computer. I'll also wake up, and if not doing anything, sit on the net for a couple of hours.
As for riding time versus Farkin time, i'd like to think they were almost close. I ride every day, and if not, every second day. If I ride every second day it's usually because I needed to rest the previous day from the previous day's riding, because i'll regularly go out and ride for 4-7 hours.
But hey, the physical exertion is nothing compared to the mental energy used to sit on here for that long...
half the posts are retarded 12 year olds,
Naz posted this in 2004 - wouldn't have guessed it. :)
These days generally my lunch break, and maybe an hour in the evening.

I have farkin open for about a half hour (or for however long it is between shower and George of the jungle) before school, and after school from about 4-10. So Farkins open for at least 6 hours day, but from 1-4 hours a day is spent riding (unless it's raining), and on weekends I'm scarcely on the computer during the day, and I'm riding for around 5-6 hours a day on weekends.
So yes, farkin does far out-weigh my actual riding time, sadly :\
But lets be honest, going on farkin is A LOT more convenient than going for a ride..

I voted less than an hour.
The window is open while I'm doing assignments, listening to music, and other things, reloading Farkin every so often, but yeah, probably no more than an hour a day for me.
