View Full Version : bead blasting and two pack in melbourne?
does anyone here have any experience with getting a frame bead blasted and/or two packed? I am looking around for a place in melbourne that will do a good job and not harm my frame.
I don't think I can get a powder coat done as the colour I want isn't available.
please let me know about any good/bad experiences with particular shops/workmen. If you are going to name names in a negative way it'll probably be best if you PM me.
Thanks.

i reckon PM'ing grip would be your best bet.
I've already talked to grip but I am looking for opinions on other places. This is nothing against Grip or his service, merely shopping around.

Hey, Simo! It's Friday now. What's the status of your CPA special! Hurry up, man. I'm on the edge of my seat, here, and my bum's getting numb.

My head hurts and I'm confussed..CPA?
I haven't contacted fineline yet (or another company that I was told about) mainly because I'm lazy. I'm going to ring around for quote this week and see if I can get the frame to them just before exams start, that way there won't be the temptation to ride durring exams

Hey Simo, i had a mate who powder coated his frame. But to get off the existing paint job he used a form of acid dipping. He said that bead blasting would destroy the welds, i don't know if it's true though he just told me that. Anyway the acid dipping worked a treat because the frame was perfectly clean in raw aluminium.
What is the status of the powder coating gone cause i want to get mine done as well.
you can't sand blast a frame, that's come up i nevery paint thread. The most common prep is bead blasting.
I'm not going to go ahead and get my frame sprayed for a while yet, maybe early next year. My forks are shagging themselves and I have to make sure I have enough to replace them when I have too.
