doesn't waste any time does he?
Not that it's, in any way, a bad thing.

That would be unreal!
sign me up!
Need some cash. Anybody wanna buy some old tyres, or tubes, or bars maybe.
Seriously though, if he's cashing in, good luck to him.
If it makes commercial space travel a reality then I have no problem with Branson making mega bucks off it, long as I get a go.

i doubt he will make mega bucks off it. space travel at the moment is very expensive, and the huge costs to fly into space are more than justified by charging high prices for tickets. but as he said earlier on in a press release, the more people that go now, the cheaper it will be in 10 years time.
still, looks good to me. id give it ago, but sadly, dad doesnt want to sell his kidneys and liver...

I will go, not now, but one day.
I don't really care what it costs, i will go.
But i think i'll wait for the trip around the moon and back before i dish out my dollars. Will be fun though.
Our generation might just make that leap into space that makes a big difference to everyones futures.

Wow, that's pretty cool! I'd definately like to go one day too, somehow!
the usual thing of supply and demand and economies of scale will happen...the first few trips will be freakin expensive and then it will get cheaper and cheaper as it gets more popular and the technology gets better and cheaper... look at how few flights there were 20 years ago compared to now. In another 20 years or even less (everything is speeding up) M PWR might get his trip for the cost of a flight to uzbekistan now.

Total development cost for SS1 was somewhere in the vicinity of $26 million, including a lot of engineering work that won't necessarily be required for future versions. So if he can sell tickets for >$200,000 to a few rich executives I don't think it would be too difficult to atleast break even.
