Did anyone else hear about the house that L.J Hooker just sold?
It was a property in Sydney That a couple purchased just recently. The only problem about this house is that the prior family that lived there were murdered in the house, by there son.
Now how can this have a bearing on the new owners, because they weren't notified of the murders by L.J Hooker. They found out when a local reporter wrote an article on it in the news paper.
What would you do if you were the new owners, who had signed the contract and put an $80,000 deposit on it?
Discuss.

I'd buy any property that had a gruesome past as long as the price was right. I don't believe in ghosts, so it would not bother me! Is there any law about notifying prospective clients about a houses history? If so, then they did something wrong. If not, I don't see how this could make any difference to consumer satisfaction. If they'd never read the news article, they'd have lived happily in ignorant bliss within their purchase.
Well Kizza, you posted the thread, what do you think?
Seriously I don't see the problem. The son that did live there murdered his parents. OH MY GOD I AM FUCKING FREAKED OUT NOW BECAUSE I'M GOING TO BE LIVING IN THAT HOUSE!!
If that was the case that entire block of land would become a useless dump. You might as well demolish the whole bloody house. Just because people where murdered there doesn't change anything. The house still has all of its qualities. There is no such thing as ghosts thus their entire argument is flawed.
If someone who lived in my house before was murdered that would rock. I would be living in a historic house and thats just cool, plus it would be cheaper and blood washes out real easy... or so I have heard.

How to tell if your new house was once used for murders:
1. All 80W globes were replaced with blacklights.
2. Extensive range of cleaning products located in all easily accessible locations.
3. You saw it once on CSI.
4. The garden grows really well.
5. The house continues to 'settle', 50 years after it was built.
6. You continue returning mail that is delivered for the previous tenant - Mr Ivan Millat.
7. Kitchen comes installed complete with movable lights, thick plastic bags, kidney bowl dining ware with scalpels and three deep freezers.
8. The bottles of red wine left in the cellar taste strange.
9. The for sale signs tagline was - "Once you enter, you wont leave"
10. Air conditioning only gets as warm as 4degrees.

God damn. THis occupied like the 5th story on the news. How does it matter? The owner was going on about the previous owner planting poison bushes and all this crap. However, another LJ hooker guy said that " unless it was in preach of privacy, the prospective buyer should have notified"
Bunch of BS to me.
Sensationalisim at its finest!

johnny, personally i really wouldn't care. you'd get it for cheap so I'd have more money to spend on bikes :D
its might be weird but its not as if the house is now crap and should be demolished.

This is getting slightly macabre, but if any of you guys have been to a murder scene or driven passed the house of a murderer etc, you'll probrably be familiar with that crap feeling you get in your stomache. Its not a spiritual thing, its just wrong. You couldn't live there. Its f***ed

I have no problem with it - it would probably come cheaper than otherwise, and I don't see what the problem would be living there. It would not bother me at all. Might be a bit macabre, but people die at road intersections all the time - should we fence off roads where people died at one time?
The asian kid went out and put a deposit on a new Porsche soon after the "accident" happened - at least he had taste in cars. I take that back, it puts a downer upon all Porsche owners. What a shit human he is.

Well there's always a chance that it was the poor feng shui of the house drove the son insane and caused him to commit the murders...

I dont think people loosing their lives in a car accident is as hard to stomache as a human attcking and killing another human. Especially family members.

Agreed, I would not want to live in a house where a son killed his own family. It's not that I couldn't, its that I WOULDN'T

I think one of the bug issues here was that the buyers were Bhuddist, and this is a big fucken problem in that sense, that they are now living in a house that was a mass murder scene.
I don't believe in ghosts, so it would not bother me!
Oh yeah? What if it really was haunted,!
Personally, screw that, I agree with red rocket. I don't think I'd like to love in a house where a family murder did happen. it would alwyas be at the back of my head....
On the other hand, maybe I'd buy it and rent it out...!

Well as long as it was Casper, that'd be cool with me!
Without trying to sound like a tough guy, I've lived in places that have seen thousands upon thousands tortured, raped and massacred with clubs, machettes and bullets. The only thing I felt was disgust for the entire human race and it's short sighted stupidity. I slept in a room next door to another (un-air conditioned) room full of mutilated bodies. 1. they're dead and cannot hurt you 2. when you are tired enough you'll sleep anywhere.
How do you know that nobody was murdered where you live now?

Yeah, I was going to actaly talk about that in my previos post. I thought you might bring it up too.
I guess the saying, "ignorance is bliss" is probably appropriate in this case. If we don't know that it's there, we are not scared of it, kind of like a big spider under your desk right now? Do you know if there is s spider under your desk thats about to attack genitals right now, :P! But as someone has allready said, if the article was never published they would ahve most likely never found out. Funny how that works.
Other than that I know that there has not been a murder in my local area for at least the last 30 years (older than the house)... But you never know, maybe there's a corpse decomposing back in the garden, one of them unsolved murders, :P!
Blah that's about it. Not knowing is part of the comfort factor I guess.

I just noticed your sig Futant, how sadly on topic.
Feeling a touch depressed tonight. I had to give first aid to some poor prick that got belted by a car that went through a red light, smashed into a car and then just fucking belted this poor bloke on his way home from work. The driver of the car got out and bolted.
I fucking hate this world. I'm over it.
