if i sign up as a member of MTBA then does that mean it is also the MTBA license or is it one of these things (like sports clubs with golf courses) where you need to pay an extra fee on top of that?

thanks for your help guys (and girls if they help :D )

You don't actually "join" MTBA.... MTBA is an umbrella organisation that covers and administers MTB sport. You join an MTB club for whatever THEIR joining fee is and that tends to include an MTBA licence. Check with the club you're thinking of joining for costs etc.

Yeah you need to join a club. $15-20 normally

You can then buy a MTBA licence.

The 04 fee structure was

$70 - senior race licence
$55 - Junior race licence
$42 - social membership

Check the MTBA site for what benefits you get and remember part of that money goes into development and access funds

Yeah,
Just join CORC (being a canberran) and you'll be covered.
Cost will be approx $85 from memory
