what are your different ways of shuttling a DH track because im buying a rack to go in my trailer that holds your front wheel in so i just have to tie down the hangers with those moto tie downs... and i just wanted to see all other ideas. so post up a pic or a description of ur way of getting back up the hill or just transporting your bike....

also has any1 got one of these or seen them and do u think they would do the job...

go into spearmans cycles down in Figtree, they have the racks we use in our trailer for sale at like $240...much better then the grip racks and yes, I have used both, with the ones in spearmans just one of those little black straps to hold the wheels in place and its set.

we have also tested this rack for at least a thousand k's....

the Grundy's design is the best...but hard to explain, EVERYONE that has seen it and needed to build a trailer has stolen his idea. Currently he is designing a new system and he is selling his old one for $250 ready to mount onto the trailer...(provided its 7x4) easy to load onto, one strap needed, fits 6 bikes onto a 7x4 trailer without any modifications.

Personally, my favourite is the Nox Shuttle... When just shuttling, a ratchet tie-down is all you need (maybe an old inner tube, as well). It's been tested at up to 150kph to and from Adelaide and around the hills. Holds 4 bikes and works a treat. Also is compact to store or use the stands for your bikes.

Best of all, it costs much less that $240, but you have to make it yourself(it's easy!) All you need is a trailer...

I have pm'ed you.

Wow! Now this is good! I wish I could weld. And this would be reallly, really compact to store and easy to fit. How strong is it when fully loaded and traveling on bumpy dirt roads?

See how its got cranks holders, does that mean some cranks wont be able to fit in it?

Not sure what it is you're talking about, Jordy, but we actually don't make ANYTHING designed to go in a trailer... so what exactly are you saying we have that isn't as good as the thing you use?

the rack we use isnt designed to go in a trailer either....im talking about the wheel slot system, my friend has one of your racks mounted into a trailer

sorry if I offended your system, I will get pics of our one tomorrow

yeah
but most cranks will fit as it is deeper than most crank holders to allow tubular Cr-mo cranks to (i have a set so i wanted mine to fit) saint will not fit but i could easily make a new crank holder and bolt it on (that why i didn't weld anything in case i wanted to change anything)

No offence taken at all, Jordy (see my PM to you)... simply wanted to know. I think the stands you're talking about are our "Rax" which are really designed for indoor/outdoor bike storage on the floor.... not in a trailer (though I know few people have one that with them). Is this the one?http://www.gripsport.com.au/html/products/product_pics/16_17_18_02.jpg

I recently built this onto an old caravan chassis. Quick loading / unloading and it fits ANY cranks !

This is one i prepared earlier

:-)

http://www.mtbdirt.com.au/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/10787/MiniMTBs.jpg

it can take 3 bikes ,

we have 4 people in the car & just alternate drivers....but i`ve made another rack for the back (bolts onto the tow bar) so we can take another 2 bikes on the back as well,,,& we can fit 5 people (at a squeeze)

then we can also hook up a trailer & take even more,,,but , :-) where do the possiblities it end????

:-)
