The apple don't fall far from the tree - Debbie Pastrana...
Got this from another board.

DEBBIE PASTRANA INJURED--NOV 11

We just got a call from Debbie Pastrana, the mother of famed Travis, and she gave us the terrible news that she broke her neck at Travis’ house. Debbie was staying in Maryland for the movie premiere of "Travis and the Nitro Circus" and was about to head home to Utah when she decided to try a backflip.

Friend of the family ‘Mad’ Mike Jones was at the house as well, along with Trevor Vines, and Debbie was interested in riding on the bike while Jones did a backflip into the foam pit. Apparently the backflip went awry as they only got the flip halfway around. Debbie landed upside-down with Mike Jones landing on top of her. Jones had previous experience at doing tandem backflips and the accident was simply a fluke.

Debbie is still in Maryland and has high spirits as always. She does not suffer from any sort of paralysis. Pastrana is a tough cookie, as she got out of the foam pit and didn’t go to the hospital until the following day because she didn’t know she broke her neck. We wish Debbie all the best and hope for her to have a speedy recovery.

That's bullshit that she wouldn't have known - she must have just stress-fractured a vertabrae.
I popped a vertabrae in my neck when I was little and couldn't move my head at all.
Lucky the thing popped out instead of inwards towards the spinal column, otherwise I would have been on two wheels permanently.

Nah, stress fractures are repetitive overuse injuries, not from massive trauma. She would have either had a crush fracture of the vertebral body (round bit between the discs) or broken the vertebral body away from the arch (bit that goes round the spinal cord) - just an educated guess, I obviously haven't seen the x-rays. I do agree that it would have been hard not to know she had done it, she would have been an extremely sad, sore little person.
