Me and some mates are planning a ride to Homebush, from Eastwood Oval. The oval is right next to the station for people interested. We'll all meet up at the oval, and then head through Eastwood, down to West Ryde(BP Macca's), past Putt-Putt, along Victoria Rd, down along a bike path to Silverwater Bridgem over the bridge, past the Silverwater Jail, and Vowla!, We're there. This Road part of the ride is quite easy going, and has some nice (read 2) hills to go down.

We will ride past the big grass pyramid near the superdome, pick up any other people meeting there, and then proceed to the Bay marker, which is a spiral hill. We'll do some drops and ride round it, etc. Then move back to the grass pyramid and hit that up a couple of times, it's actually quite fun :D . From there on in, it'll justbe stuffing around the Olympic park area. There's a carpark to stuff around in, a nice wallride, a few drops. If we behave ourselves the security shouldn't bother us;) (only had run ins with them when riding parts we arn't supposed to be, i know what's ok to ride, and whats not...i think:p )

The times not confirmed yet, but it'll either be mid morning leave time, have Macca's then keep riding, or a leave oval at 1.30 and have the afternoon to stuff around. I'm not sure which is better, but for now i think the after lunch idea is better.

The people that i know whoa re going are in there teens, but older members are welcome. Further details will be posted as the time/date comes closer. Hope to see you there.

It's on again, we'll try this Sunday. Come on good weather!! time changed to meet up at 10.30 at eastwood oval!

Heh, the grass pyramid is really cool.
And yeah i'll be there.
OH yeh, and i'll most likely take the train back as i'm too unfit to ride back to eastwood from homebush.

This is my local riding spot, haven't been there for a bit, so count me in... will probably meet up on the way.

I'm close, but will be moving house. One thing though, West Ryde Maccas/BP to Putt Putt? Isn't that a bit of backtracking? Once at West Ryde, you could just go down through Meadowbank park (few drops and little things to play on), over the bridge and basically follow that all the way to O/Park.

Sounds like fun, but as I said, I've gotta move house

Sounds good; my forks are still absolutely stuffed, but hopefully they will be there, as will I!
I will probably meet you guys at the pyramid (I love that thing, and it is lighteningly fast at the moment), as it is just down the road from me.
:D

Wow, some interest! Well Johnny, the way i like to go down to Homebush from my area probably does take a little bit longer, but is much more enjoyable. The way i go is from Eastwood, then snake through local streets down to victoria rd where it meets wharf rd and vickoria rd(where put put is). We're a distance away from West Ryde Station at this point. I usually come back along the railway line route as it is more flat and abit more direct...but IMO, it's boring. Oh, have fun moving house Johnny, houses can be pretty heavy  .

The ride is still some time away, just wanted to get in early to gather interest, so there's plenty of time to figure out what's really going on  :D

Ah, good to see a fair few people interested in going. Well, does anyone have any preferences for time to go/meet? I'm thinking leaving leaving Eastwood oval around 1.30 -2.00pm and its a half hour ride down from there to the grass pyramid. The meet up at Eastwood is mostly for the locals, so it's fine meeting others at the pyramid.

So guys, how does the meet up time sound?

I've landed them to flat (by accident), not pleasant
Gapping... possible... could be deadly though, the only way you could get enough speed to gap one is to go down the righthand side (look at showgrounds, the side to your right, that faces the waste centre), you'd need a kicker to do so, and even though the runout is nice and long, you'll have an insane amount of speed and will run in to major issues with either cars, median strips, or even the fence on the other side of the road.

Davf
17-01-2005, 05:20 PM
The guys meeting me up at Eastwood should be there by 1.30pm. The guys meeting at the Grass Pyramid should be there by ~2.15pm. We may end up going to the bay marker up the road from the Grass pyramid, this is the spiral hill. So guy who don't want to do this can wait at the grass pyramid until ~2.30pm

As for finishing times....Well, leave when you want basically. I have no idea what time it'll finish but i'm leaving at the very latest 6pm~ish. Any other quetions?

sounds like i should be bringing my foes??
is it do-able? the gap thing that is.

If anybody needs an invention to make i suggest an inflatable kicker (spring effect adds lift)

or

has anybody ever seen one of those toys which is a ball made of small moving parts. if u pull on a edge of it the ball expands. well with that idea in mind make a kicker version.
Just a thought.

Noble price just on the horizon.

Something we should note guys, especially mid afternoon on a Sunday, is security presence at Olympic Park. I don't think we'll be hanging around there too long if security have their way.

Yes, this is my main concern. Hopefully being a Sunday arvo they won't be out on force, and hopefully we won't have any big run ins. We can ride the grassy pyramid, and ride round the car park(not heaps fun, but a novelty of a lift up is hard to get over...;) ), then ride down the spiral ramp to the bottom. Um, as for the wall ride, they shouldn't be overly concerned about that. Riding the jump out of the fountain might stir them, and also jumping/landing in a garden of spinefex might concern them too. I haven't had any major run in's with security, except when they shoo'ed me off when they were filming part of that stupid kia rio ad. Hopefully security willl be nice and lazy...and our day will be fun and relaxing...*fingers crossed*
