View Full Version : Funny signs
Has to either BE a sign you've seen (that's funny in itself) or something to do with a sign (like a photo of a NO RIDING sign with a XC race streaming past it).
Photos of funny signs will earn you extra points.
I'll start.
I was in a shopping centre food court recently and saw the sign "PIZZA... TO EAT"
I asked the bloke if he had any to read and he didn't get it.

Me and my sister when we were in Austria 2 years ago. Look closely at the symbol on the sign. HMmmmmMmm.
I'm sure everyone's seen the pic before . .

I didn't have my camera on me (spewin) but just outside Narooma there is a beach where letting your dog run off the lead is OK.
There is a sign on the beach that says "DOGS ALLOWED ON THIS BEACH, PENALTIES APPLY"
Does that mean you get fined if you don't have a dog?

Ive always wanted to put one of thoes
"Please limit compression braking"
signs somewhere in bunnywalk trees on the cannonball run at thredbo. Considering how bad brakes are dragged though there :D ....
We saw a few funny ones on our tour to china.
"No tossing, with a picture of a guy with something in his hand"
"No parking on this sign"
"This sign is erect for your protection"
These are government signs too  .

One I cracked up at the other day:
A big Alcoholics Anonymous sign out front of a hall on Moggill Rd (a fairly major road in Brisbane) - not that anonymous really.

There is a Primary school round the corner and they always have something to do with conservation/environment.
Anyway, they have a series of signs that the kids have painted and are along a fence, one says "GERMINATING AND SMOKING". What have the youth of today come to?!
I had a mate who once took this understanding of a sign too far..."Please place youre trolleys here." Well he did, placing the trolley right on top of the sign. A few weeks later a similar thing was featured on ROVE's "What The?!".

On a trip to Mt Buller, my sister and a few of her friends went past some fairly strange things.
They saw a sign, that was about animals crossing, but then they realised what it said.
It was a 'gnomes crossing' sign, with a picture of a little gnome,
Then behind it they saw something even stranger, in the trees behind the sign, there were a few little houses, and at the stumps of the trees, were little doors.
Also on that trip they saw the sign of the Maccca's at Yass.
Well, whoever put the Macca's M up, didnt think, as Now it reads M|Yass
I have pics, but i will see if the scanner is working.

When i was in cairns for the 1st nats round. In the parks they have three signs.
No Camping. No brawling. No Drinking
It's hell funny, they have a outline of a dude with a tent, then two guys fighting, and a dude sculling a long neck.
I have photos, but i'll be keeping them to myself.

flasher, i saw that sign too. it was quite a laugh.
others i have seen include a no standing sign with an arrow pointing to the same parking bay as a sign that says 1/4 hr parking. the funny part is that the signs have the same times and days printed on them.

Grip delete this if you think its stupid but I thought it was funny and it SORTA relates to the topic..... i guess..... it could  (Its better than starting a whole new dumb warnings on products thread) :) Anyway, got some Shimano mineral oil today, On the back of the small PLASTIC bottle it says: DO NOT DRINK and then 2 lines below, do not cut heat, WELD or pressurize the oil container, Honestly how stupid do the guys at shimano think we are

claymores have "do not eat" written on the top of them. this was apparently because in vietnam, US soldiers were mistaking them for tins of sardines and subsequently blowing themselves up.

I bought a knife (as a chef) that had a warning on it "warning:edges of knife may be sharp". Stupid, but damn regulations make it so....

You'd think they would have put a label on the frag grenades that said - "Do not throw at your commanding officer."
Little bit of Vietnam war history behind that one.

I've seen a warning sticker on a chainsaw (think it was a Husky) that warned against stopping the chain with your hands.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - take down the signs and weed out the idiots. Think of it as thinning the herd if you will.

sorry to dig this thread up but i figure it's not TOO old and i foundthis one while in new zealand, they seem to have a lot of funny signsover there and they use them for everything. and in a visitor centrethere was a sign saying something along the lines of "in new zealand itis customary to place used toilet paper in the toilet and flush afteruse" would of gotten a pic but thought it'd look a bit weird taking acamera into a public toilet.

at one stage apple had "do not eat shuffle" in their disclaimer for the new iPod shuffle. its been removed now though.
for those who mistake it for the pack of gum they are comparing the size too.
