Hey all,

I'll be riding Helena's Saturday week. Because of where I live I'll be driving to Glenbrook Station and on the 7.04am train from there up to Woodford. Feel free to join me. Should finish by 9am and might head to jellybean for a cool off swim afterwards.

Train info is here

Depends if I work or not that day (optional for me, but I need the money), I might just join you... St Helena's I love, though I just wish for one run without having to wait for others and their damn pinchflats!

5am? Aww diddums... harden up, get up early, then sleep on the train. That'll also give me ample time to get my hands on that Gemini of yours :D

Thankfully they did hey?

If anyone is keen to come but it's going to be too early (n00b, Rik) feel free to come out to Richmond on Friday night and we can organise a lift.

If you decide to come, drop me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number. The more the merrier ;)

Righto, well, I'm going to make the effort to be on the early train, is anyone else leaving from Sydney? PM me to exchange phone numbers and meet at either Strathfield, or on the way at Glenbrook/whatever. Depending how I feel in the morning (feeling a bit ordinary now) I might have a bit to eat at Glenbrook, then ride Oaks backwards to Woodford, I need the exercise  If anyone feels stupid enough to join me, you're welcome to do so!

Hey Rik,

I wasn't on the forum Friday night so I missed your post sorry. Hope you weren't high and dry.

As far as the ride went... a few dramas.
We get to Glenbrook station, pulling the bikes out of the cars, and my mate Matt notices that the limiting screw on his brake lever has come off. It's nowhere in the car so he decides to do the ride with no front brakes. We get to the station and wait for the train. It arrives half an hour late.
The ride starts well, LOTS of people on the trail. There were a few trees down on the trail, obviously we were the first people to be riding it that morning so we had a bit of clearing to do. Finally we hit some clear trail and take off. I'm having a ball (first time on Helena's). As we get to the end of the section, my mate Simon points out a rock and tells me to jump from it. I hit it, get crossed up and take a decent stack. Cracked my fot on the pedal on the way through and the final result is a couple of fractures of my tarsals.

Still, we had a great time and I'll be heading back before long.
