Yeah having a little trouble with the old Postie Bike "CT110", the carby had been F***ed with and Dad and I stuck her back together correctly but she doesn't want to rev out completely and Dad was wondering how to set the ignition timing. We have no clue because the bike never came with a manual and all we need is the engine. It's a late 1980's model if that helps.
If anyone can help me with this problem would me much appreciated!
thanks

Sounds like it wants more juice
Try raising the needle (lowering the clip).

What makes you think it would be an ignition problem?
Posties run a flywheel generator I think, which in most cases have fixed timing so I doubt that is going to be giving you your grief..
it could be a lot of things, pretty hard to help without having a look at it..

yeah u can rotate this disk in the CDI unit but we carnt undo the screws so just chose to leave it.
From what you said, having just put the carb back together, sounds likely to be some little problem there. Did you clean all the jets and othe shit in it when you fiddled with it? Also don't forget about obvious stuff, like the fuel filter (I dunno if they have one or not). We had an engine just die, and it took us ages to work out that the fuel filter was just clog to shit. (and only a few months old!)
Do a search on motofiches, I know of one website that has alot of diagrams, including Honda. I reckon you could find a motofiche on the net if that helps you.
I would definately look at other stuff before I fiddled with the CDI.
Oh yeah, you will probably get more info at a Dirtbike site/forum. Try www.dirtbikeworld.net
Good luck.
