hey everyone, i finnaly got from Tasmania on Tuesday after a great week of holidaying there. We went to Bischeno, Launceston, Wine glass bay lookout and Hobart. I went to the Trevalluian park in Launceston but i couldnt really find any downhill tracks or xc tracks on the walk around the place, i walked around the basin and all that which has really a nice view etc. I went to 3 bike shops in Hobart 2 of them were in elizibeth street i think and 1 in bathurst street. The bike shops in Tasmania are real tight asses because they don't let you take the bike for a test ride unless u leave them with a drivers license or if u have the money to buy one. Here where i live any bike shop will let u test ride a bike outside the store and the owners just walk back inside.

mate, thats undersatndable, my local shop has had bikes stolen on test rides, even by people who have given licences. (fake yo) and as for test rides, if you dont have the money, why do you want to test it? It takes up time, and its risky.

ha!! i lived is hobart for 3 years. the reason why the shops down thereare so paranoid about there stock is a good one - theres a higher thenthe national average level of bogans in the area. during the day theymigrate south from there government houseing suburbs in the north, withthere shoplifting list. if you want to see inbred 2 headed freaks, thenorth suburbs of hobart is the place to start.

heres a typical example. a mate had his kona stuff knocked off a whileago. a few week later, another mate saw his bike been ridden by someflanellette shirt wearing red neck, knocked him to the ground, buy heswore he bought it from a pawn shop. in the end he was telling thetruth and cops found the the wife-beater wearing grom whoactually stole it and sold it to the pawn shop.

goes to show which corner of the gene pool these guys live in, stealand sell shit in such a small town, and be surprised when the getcaught!!

You can't be serious? What idiot would let just any stranger test ridea valuable bike without at least leaving ID? Seriously, think about it!

Wait, I take that back. I would like to buy your bike for $50,000. CanI please come and test ride it? Unfortunately I won't be able to bringthe money at this time...
