Today I was at Nerina in Ballarat doing the usual DH tracks gettin quicker and looked at the set up of the XC Vic round.
When I was on my way home I thought I would do a new jump, but as I was pedaling towards the jump my gears skipped throwing me off my bike.

It was my ankle. I had broken it and luckaly my mate was there to help me. My foot had touched the ground and dugg in as my pedle forced my foot to bend backwards. SNAPP!!

I went to hospital and had it all checked out. I had it all plastered up and i am really pissed off because I will have 2 weeks on cruches and will not be able to race at King of Ballarat Round 3 DH or even ride a bike.....

Oh well I hope to be on my bike again as soon as possible.

Bad luck though, do you know how long you will be out for?

Yes injuries really do suck.

fuck man, that sucks, my mate and my bro both fucked em selves up at ballarat dh track on saturday, injuries come in three's...

mines been fucked for years because i was to hasty to get active on it again... so stay off it until you and the doc are satisfied that it's better, cos if it aint, you've got years of problems waiting to hold you back.

anyway, hope it gets better soon mate!!

Thanks guys!! Today I snapped the plaster after i had a look at the XC at Ballarat, Nerrina and had it re done. I wont be doing anything like that again for a while hopefully. The Doc said i had also ripped a bone off where the muscle holds on to so the muscle was hanging off on the other broken bone.

Ugh, you poor bugger... I did similar a few weeks ago, foot was dragging on the ground with the pedal pushing forward in to my calf, ended up catching on a rock and getting bucked. The pain was incredibly, I thought I'd broken it, but it was only heavy bruising. Even now the join hurts a bit, and it aches if I walk too much, but I'm just thankful nothing worse came out of it. It's a painful and clumsy way of knocking yourself about, I wish you well in your recovery.
