I dont have a problem with the average price, im more wondering why there is a difference in price between what would be considered the elite classes and the novice classes.

I think that these prices are justified though i do feel that the prices should all be the same. Raise the sport fees, maybe lower the elites so that all are the same...somewhere in the middle, or all at the higher rate.
The reason i suggest this is because there will be MAJOR sandbagging. I'm not complaining about the price, just the unfair racing that will result.
my $0.02

I would have said it was to encourage novices etc. to have a go, but rhyno raises a valid point.
Surely if you have raced in an elite class in another round, you can't drop at the Nationals????
(although that said, I'd raced XC in masters then realised I should have been in novice, didn't think it was fair to change though)

I really find it interesting where Rohin Says "Oh we have tried bloody hard to get sponsorship money from industry and out of industry. It just doesn't seem to happen. So also any companies with a spare $5000 cash who want their logos to go world wide on the TV program please contact us."
When my Girlfriend Messaged him to offer some sponsership through the company she works for 2 weeks ago and has not heard a single thing back from him. Yeah he might be busy but it only takes 2 mins to say to busy at the moment but after the Nats would love to discuss it further, as it would be a long term sponsership.

umm just a quick question, it may sound a bit stupid, but...
Do you need a membership, (like ftf) to race at the nationals?
and if you have one, does the cost go down?
or will it be still be the 88 pluss a membership lisence if i dont already have one?
any help would be great.

kizza, you'll need an MTBA licence to race at the nationals. You usually get them through a club, such as ftf or any other MTBA affiliated club. You'll also be able to buy a day licence on the day, an extra $15 + entry fee. From the mtbnats webiste: www.mtbnats.com.au
What you need:
Serviceable mountain bike
Australian Standards certified cycling helmet,
MTBA full licence or alternatively a day licence can be issued for $15. This licence covers you, your fellow competitors and the event with liability insurance. It is recommended that each rider have adequate health insurance and ambulance membership
Check out the webiste for further details.

Thanks heaps mate,
I was told that you needed a full membership from a club (i.e. a year membership), and there wasn’t going to be day licence.
And as I’m am now in year 12 I was contemplating on not going because though out this year I doubt I will get much racing done, and it would have been a waste of money.
But if i can race for the $103 then ill head up.
Cheers tripmitz,
Kieran

$103 is still an expensive day out on the track for anyone. does the event have any type of entertainment for your dollars?

Well, its really 3 days if you count practice, theres plenty of marquee's and the town puts on a couple of good nights for all. I was there for 4 days last year and can't remember being bored at all.

Yeah, they have live mountainbiking all 3 days, free to watch.
