Chewy, i dunno what type of riding you do but have you thought about just selling the CR and using that money to put a new fork and maybe some new linkage plates on the Stinky ? throw a Super/Junior T on there with some 6-7" Betd or Dangerboy plates and you'd have quite a nice bike IMO.

Just a thought.

Ok Fare enough. I wouldn't worry too much about what the kids on Pinkbike say though. Alot(not all) of them are all mouth and no brain.

Gutty is right, who cares what they think.
I can see your point about buying a complete new bike to get all new bits. But then again parts like rims and hubs are really just a wank, in reality if they roll then you are laughing. It is after all MTB and FR or DH at that, so i wouldn't go expecting wheels to stay straight and all nice. Gutty has a point about new links, i did the same to a Norco once and it worked a treat. It extended the life of that frame a few years. I now have a brand new Bullit frame and new Boxxers but almost every bit is off that 2000 VPS 2.

Just a thought.

Cos they're not cheap to make! According to Gutty it takes ~5 hours to do the CAD design and machining for those two little triangles... if you were paying him the rate that you'd pay a computer technician ($100/hr, roughly), that's $500. If you're not doing it "officially" (ie through Anchor Plastics), then he has to give up his own spare time to do it... and even then there's operating costs. No offence intended, but you understand that he can't make stuff for everyone.
Apologies to you too Gutty if I appear to have spoken for you in words other than you would have chosen...

Although, without disclosing details, his products are works of art.

Because he doesn't want to keep the Kona

Also see Sockets reply, it's pretty much spot on. If i could, i would make nice stuff for all the nice people i meet but the fact is, custom MTB parts aren't gonna pay my mortgage nor will they keep the doors to my bussiness open.

I am sorry but as much as i'd like to, i can't do everyone favours. :(
