The only to increase the travel on Norco is to incease shock stroke length. This will raise the bottom bracket & steepen the head angle. You can offset this by a) running a 24" rear wheel & b) using longer travel/taller forks.

I had a 2003 Norco Drop & fiddled around with changing travel, but IMO it is not worth it. The steering feels weird & the leverage ratio on the shock is increased, making it more likey to damage equipment. I changed from a 2" stroke to a 2.25" inch stoke & could only get 0.6" extra travel (5.5" >6.1"), at the expense of crap geometry.

6.4 inches is enough travel.
