somebody also told me that you had a boyfriend that looked like a girlfriend that I had in February of last year...
But we are'nt going there, mate frames break, an iron horse will not break any more/less than about %90 of MTB's out there, go tell your mate he's a moron.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha
obviously 'somebody' didn't have a clue and know what they were talking about, a Full suspension Iron horse that i owned back in 1996 is still going hard.

The only Ironhorse's that are weak are the Kmart/Rebel sport "Mountain Bikes ".
The rest of them, the good bikes, the real bikes lol, are as strong as the next bike.

Porters have had a history snapping at the headtube weld, seen a few pics on farkin to prove it.
But seem real good other then that.

I haven't ridden the Kumicho but have seen one in the flesh and they look great... The pics from the website made it look good and i thought it wouldn't hold up in the flesh but it looked even better.
Looks nice and strong, i wouldn't worry about strength. Looks good all over... get one and tell us how it is

the only real problem ive seen with them (im assuming the kumicho is the DH one, but i couldnt be bothered finding out) is the caliper positioning. its positioned about as low as the derailer, but on the other side.
but i think (not sure) you can get rid of the floating disk brake, and put the caliper on the top (thats how all the rent ones are like at rawnrg anyway) and it will be at less risk.

they do have 1 weakness .....
the floatable disc mount rear , sits out like a rear mech. and wat i can see prone to damage but if u ditch the idea then u got probs with routin brake cable - grant

The Kumichos are solid little bikes, and are wicked for their intended purpose (ie. not hardcore downhill/huckmaster like). Like someone mentioned, the floating brake can be removed and caliper can be mounted in a more 'traditional' manner on the frame without any problems (our hire bikes are set up like this). Luke Strom and myself rode the Kumichos for a couple of days in the past week and both agreed they handled and rode nicely, and as a bonus are pretty good value for the coin - especially for someone looking to get into full sus/entry level dh. If you're really keen to see how they ride, get yourself an excuse to get down to Thredbo and ride one for yourself, and get some first-hand experience ;)

i saw one in the flesh yesterday
she looks pretty solid and is pretty good value for the price
all the fruit for a nice price
only thing i didn't like is the floating rear brake caliper mount
which puts the brake caliper under the rear axle
hanging in harms way like a rear derailer except on opposite side
cheers
