Our club is reviewing the way we record registration & race time data onsite to move from a manual paper based process to an electronic process.

We are proposing to use a laptop & simple excel spread sheet to record registrations, once rego is finished we enter start times and print out a copy for the top of the course using a battery powered BJC55 printer. Finish times would then be recorded in the spreadsheet and a formula would calculate the race time.

I am interested in how other DH clubs manage their data & time recording onsite electronically and what equipment is used ie laptop, optical timers etc.

"I am interested in how other DH clubs manage their data & time recording onsite electronically and what equipment is used ie laptop, optical timers etc."

XC, desktop registration, manual entry of time using a Seiko printing stop watch, 2 peson required for data entry and timing.

DH, Club laptop registration, light beam to Seiko printer at top, Seiko printer directly into laptop at bottom.
DH, later this year (if numbers are high enough) rent tag system. Lights to start break beam with radio system to start, break beam at finish records to laptop.
