Who's gonna win...
How do the new cars look.

Personally this season i rekon the McLarens will be the team to beat this year. They have a very quick car and 2 very good drivers. Ferrari looked abit slow but renault look very good aswell. The Qualifying for this years Melbourne GP was ridiculous with luck getting you a good place on the grid for the start of the race. Michael Schumacher is 2 last on the grid with both McLarens in the middle at Pos. 10 and 11.
Should be an awesome race with many of the good teams in the middle pack, so expect alot of overtaking and accidents :)

What are your opinions?

Over the season Ferrari and Schumacher will assert their dominance...again.

There will be constant but varied whinging about the various new systems...again.

The Australian media will focus on Webber (no matter whether he wins, loses, or stays home and has a beer instead of racing).

Other teams will get a bit closer to Ferrari, but still not topple them.

That Toyota "commerative" supercar will remain under wraps for at least another season ;) .

Im gonna have to disagree with you....until Ferrari bring out there new car (mid-season) they will not be able to keep up with the likes of Montoya, Raikonnen and Alonso, although the weather plays a big part, if the weather is wet and raining the bridgestone tires will perform better that the michelin which will give ferrari and advantage. But until Ferrari bring out their 2005 car i just dont think they will be fast enough IMO

Meh, Ferrari have had their time at the top, and are going to now being to lose their dominance. Teams like Renault, BAR/Honda, and Toyota are the new forces which are to be reckoned with agains the "Big 3" teams of BMW-Willams, Ferrari and McLaren Mercedes. BMW Williams will do well with Webber, but as a competitive driver, hes ratshit. He lacks the aggressivesness to ever really secure posistions like M Schumacher does. However, he is blisteringly fast when focused, and unchallenged. The Renault team has 2 very great drivers in Alonso and Fisichella, the latter with several years of experience. And of course, BAR/Honda and Toyota are now beginning to put some serious financing into their teams, to ensure they can compete effectively- and it's now paying off.

Ferrari is overrated. No team spends as much money as Ferrari does either, yet other teams still come close or even better Ferrari in many areas. Anyway, what is Ferrari trying to prove? To sell 100 more cars a year out of the maybe 30,000 they sell worldwide? Is it even worth their while? Ferrari is simply a cumbersome juggernaut of a team, that will eventually run themselves into the ground with over-expenditure trying to constantly be one better than every other team.

And to all the people out there who wore the FILA red ferrari runners, ferrari pants, ferrari shirt, ferrari jacket, ferrari hat, carried the 3x3metre ferrari flag, and their ferrari backpack- you are a fool. Total value of all that gear? $200. Max. Total price paid? $1500+. And I bet you all drive an old beat up XF Falcon, you stupid tools of corporate greed.

on our couch we discovered the secret of ferraris sucsess. Its the red paint all along, it is widely known that having a red car makes it go faster, toyota almost got it right but they made their car have too much white. So we have schemed and come up with the idea of buying one of those little go karts, painting every bit of it red and all the F1 guys will have no chance. Anyhow go webber, he did well

Ive said this before, but Ferrari pay for their grossly overfunded F1 team PURELY on sales of merchandise. I heard this from a team official when i was down at the f1 last year on some corperate giveaway. Fark that shits expensive. Some amazingly huge ammount for corperate hospitality per person per day. Im everso glad i dont pay for it.

As you all know Minardi is a team that is strugling in terms of money within F1. To show how expensive it is to fund an F1 team, even a team like Minardi spends 5 times more than the average V8 supercar team. We are talking Millions. Teams like Ferrari, McLaren-Mercedes, Williams-BMW, and renault spend alot more than that.

the whole money thing always raises a debate about skill/money - the ultimate combination...

how many people say that schumacher only wins because he drives a ferrari...

It will be interesting now to see what happens now that toyota and renault are producing some top cars now, will we see alot more companys fighting over drivers instead of accepting what they have?

I think F1 is about to change dramatically in terms of manufactures pionts.

Cant wait! as much as i love watching schumacher race and win with that edge that only schumacher has (had?) it will be good see a few new faces on the podium, and a new manufacturer as well...

Well done Renault

Well done Webber!

You must be hearing another Mark Webber to the one I, and everyone else is listening to. Who knows what you are listening to.

Do you want to list ONE person or thing he is blaming for not having finished higher. JUST ONE.

He is actually quite happy, and did not expect to finish so high.

yeah, thats just that bloody media blow ing out of proportion... as usual.

He said they (williams) can do better then 5th - which is true, but hes not pissed about it, he is, as everybody knows, extremely happy with his finish...

Webbers quotes were taken out of context. He said that because they got such a good qualifying result, their hopes were up to get a podium finish. When he came 5th, they were of course a little let down, but nonetheless very happy with such a great result- 5th is pretty damn good, and he only lost by less than half a second to Coulthard.

Webber is a champ, and i am sure he will only get faster and soon we will see him on the podium.

i am so glad that m schumacher didn't win. good work renault although it would have been better if Webber was in 2nd instead of barachello (i cant spell his name)

Great GP all round, cant wait 4 next years

also have you heard about the 2006 dillema with the f1's

they had a conference and the only team that wanted to race beyond 06 was ferrari, all the other teams are treatning to pull out after 06 or after 05 (i forget) but the other teams want seriouse changes to be made so its fairer, maybe this is the begining of the end

well have to wait and see

This has been widely reported for a couple of years now - a number of the manufacturers want greater control than Ecclestone has released, even though he has sold 75% of the controlling entity.

It is 2008 that is the crunch year, and so far, only ferrari have signed up with current administration, due to receiving an approx. $200m sign up fee.

The other manufacturers have set up a rival championship - Grand Prix World Championship in case things are not as they want them.

This is such a complex issue, I could probably put pages of stuff here, but I'm at work, so must be short.
