Hey all,

Got a question to be answered here,

Alright, so i'm getting a new frame (24 porn king) and i've decided to run gears. I was looking at getting this chain guide - http://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=13211 (Yes i know, incredibly cheap) and then just chucking a 105 rear der etc etc. But i noticed that it said on the blackspire website that you need an E-type bottom bracket for this, so thats option one, we'll get back to it in a moment.

Option 2: Or i could get either one of these http://aebike.com/site/page.cfm?PageID=30&SKU=CH1560 or this http://aebike.com/site/page.cfm?PageID=30&SKU=CH1554 it doesn't specify there but i was wondering would i need an E-type BB for those 2? ( p.s the porn kind does have iscg mounts)

Now if i were to choose option one, or if option 2 required an e-type BB what would you reccomend in the way of an e-type bb and cranks to go with it, keep in mind it needs to be 5 bolt.

cheers mike

you just need a BB that has a drive side cup that will clamp the guide onto the frame, most (if not all) DH bottom brackets have them

Heres a pic of what i mean -

Also, why does it have to be 5 bolt ? If you are getting a new crank/bb and guide setup ?

EDIT: Maybe checkout The old style XTR cranks and get a 5bolt 94 spider for them. Seems they can be gotten new off of ebay in the states for around $130 - 150US regularly

cheers man it would have to be 5 bolt because the bash guard on the black spire is 5 bolt.

so your just suggesting get a truvativ giga pipe or something simlar and it will work with the blackspire guide.

yes it will, any with that style drive side cup will work fine.
Maybe also look at a pair of profile's with a euro bb ?
