Warning - lots of pics, all very nice. Gotta love that shock, Fox are doing the DHX with remote res aftermarket, so you can run one of these on an 04 model.

I couldn't agree more with you :D

Those red ones are for a team, you can only buy black or grey ones. There is another team who got theirs painted white. Look super nice.

DH direct has a banner on here at the moment saying 15% off 05 bikes. That would make the DHR by far the best buy at the moment. Would only be a touch over $3g's for an american made frame with DHX.

hmmm,if my DHR had the remote like that it would have been smashed up on the 2nd ride !

Ohhh I want the white one, I'm with Jordy though on the remote reservoir on the outside. I'd be shifting up behind the head tube

Those are sweet.

The placement of the resevoir is a little sketchy though, i don't like it one bit. One rogue rock could do a shitload of damage, but i guess at least you can run a decent shock.

Definately not a fan of the resevoir placing.

Im not that much of a fan either, but it would be easy to mount it else where. Just ever so slightly undo the allen bolts, turn both fittings 180degs and mount the res where i have it on my bike.

Or even get bear to do it if it requires an oil change. Maybe $50 worth of hassle. The DHX would be heaps better then the old romic and worth it IMO.

man those frames are sooo sweet, i also agree about the placing of the resevoir.

the red one is better, red goes faster

mmmmm still not convinced CF is such a bad thing on a DH bike. Theybuild the bath tub in a F1 car to keep the driver safe so it has tohave some merit. I comes down to the way it is designed and protectedfrom sharp impacts. In this case I'd agree with the cranks being aquestionable area. But they do have an aluminium spine. Anyway enoughthread hi jack.

These frames are at the top of my wish list by along way and if thoseforks are as good for DH as the Vanilla/Talas Forks were fortrail/4Xthen I am already creamimg my pants.

Now if I can sell my car............could get 50 bucks forthedog............ don't need this computer really, not when I getaTurner!........what else have I got back here.............honey, haveyou finished with the TV..........................

After cracking my old dorados in the carbon area i will never use carbon fibre on a bike again. Sure, they make the F1 bath tub out of it, plus alot of other stuff, but that bath tub is only designed to see one impact then be thrown away. How do you know they don't replace it every race even if it's not broken? F1 cars experiance alot of Gforces, but the roads they drive on a realitly smooth so they don't get much shock loading.

Unlike a DH bike that gets hammered over rocky ground all the time, crashed all the time and excpected to last.

IMO carbon fibre has no place on DH bikes. It's bad news and not worth the minute wieght savings.

cave dweller, what about for headset spacers :D and did anyone think that the resovoir of a dhx might actually be a TINY bit larger than an avvy, ive heard that they are abnormally big and i would think they considered mounting it how you did with yours..

I don't mind the idea of Carbon on bikes, but now there are alloy parts which are nearly as light and stiffer. Cranks seem to be one hell of a stupid place for carbon though, even on road bikes carbon cranks are not the greatest of ideas.

I'd still happily run a carbon seatpost, bar, and spacers on a DH bike, but i don't know about other places.

Hey man, nice turner, love the place you put reseviour...

Wondering how the tuners ride for DH, how does the rear feel and all because im real insterested in getting one, also how did you get orange gaphics, i thought they only came with the grey and white?

and did anyone think that the resovoir of a dhx might actually be a TINY bit larger than an avvyAvalanche reservoir is 38mm diameter, 110mm long. I don't know how big the DHX reservoir is, but my e-speculation almost guarantees its placement is to allow access to adjustments, and that its size doesn't play a huge factor in that.
