Doesn't that 8" rotor weigh more than the wheel itself?!
Either way, it looks different and wateva that looks different usually attracts attention.;)

and you wouldn't have a bell on a road commutre like that? i'm sure it has saved more lives than destroyed reputations. i saw a guy almost get run over but he rang his bell, the guy saw him and he lived. i almost got one myself (ALMOST!)

[EDIT: i want an option that is yeah! i'd give it a farkin go!]

What's the story behind it?

My girl ran into the back of a taxi when it braked ultra suddenly on George St, totalling her custom road bike. Therefore, I wanted to build her something tough with good brakes! Managed to get hold of the last KHS team frame that was available and whipped this together. She also wanted steel, so that worked out well. I was going to upgrade her road bike with the stem and bars that are on this (literally the next day she ran into the taxi) so it started from there. The cranks and the pedals were the only salvageable parts from the roadie.
cheers

very very nice. I would say she is one lucky girl. Nice choice of frame - I've always wanted one of those and the drop bar setup is cool. I wonder what it would be like with bullhorns?
