Hi All

Manly Warringah MTB club are holding our second XC club race for 05 on April 24th. We had a great turn out for the first round, but only one single speeder!

In a first we've created a dedicated SS category for the whole series, but no one really knew. Now I'm shamelessly spreading the word, and you've got over a months notice, so no excuses.

The course is very SS friendly, with only one real tough climb. If you ride in Sydney and are used to our sandstone based trails you'll feel right at home.

Come along and spread the word.

All details here...

Of course we will also have all the other standard XC categories, including kiddies.

Man! Racing SS at Arcadia, I didn't think there was still racing out there! very cool. I'll try to get there more as a nostalgia trip than anything. I used to race out there with the north shore nobbies many moons ago...aah the good old days.

"Friendly" is probably not quite the word I would have chose, but I intend to be there. A month is plenty of time to come up with a few good excuses.

Excuse from last time was I couldn't move after doing the AROC race on the saturday, running is the root of all evil.

Indeedly, I've SS'd it and it was nasty, the back section is a walk-fest for a not very fit b#$tard on a big gear.

We'll only be using the first third of the course linked up with the last third, thus eliminating the middle third, which is the bastard! Basically, if anyone raced the twilight races at the start of the year (Alchemist), this is the course we are using for the SS race. If you have raced a State Round or Club XC round you will miss the second bottom section of the course, which is a quad killer. We will still be using this section for the rest of the race categories.

We have also eliminated a nasty step up which has featured on the course in previous years. With these alterations i can only think of one section which is marginal for a SS rider. The strong riders will get up it, the rest of us can whip out our best cyclocross impression for 20-30 metres.

Ah, not too bad then, just not rigid friendly.
