hi all,
just wondering how fast you do a lap of the dam circuit.
also, how would the dam compare with a lap of the WSMB 24hr race circuit, ie same terrain?, more technical? faster?
been using the dam as a bit of training for the 24hr and want to know if its a good way to train (its damn fun anyway)
cheers, namsat

Hmm 30-40 mins would be a good time for the circuit.
The 24hr course will make you yawn if you love the dam. Bring a hardtail and some forks with lock-out!
24hr course = sand, dust, sandy dust, dusty sand, sandy rock, rocky sand, oh, and did I mention sand and dust?

You forgot the copious amounts of turd that we were left to dodge last year. Forget avoiding trees and rocks... it was almost worth running a mud guard! ugh

well, did a lap today in 46 mins which was reasonably happy with, but if 30 minutes is the time to beat, I have a bit of work to do :)
my fitness is not great, and I know I have got room to improve there.
sand in the 24hr wlil be a bit of a pain, esp after you're pretty buggered and getting a bit sloppy.

Rik forgot to mention the sand, dust, sand, dust, sandy rock....
But don't be detered, it's still fun if you navigate around the turds.

Call me weird but I had a ball on the Dargle track. Maybe I was just feeling good. The only part that I didnt enjoy was the long fire roadhaul out to where th bonfire was. (The steep climb at the end was a challenge at night)
I definetly think that the Dargle track is more enjoyable than the mont track.
