How you going I am currently riding DH and i would like to start dirt jumping and mabe even a little street. So i am looking for a good hardtail but one that is mabey even strong enough for the od 7 foot drop. I have been looking at some of the norco range and the big foot looked good and it has good specs for its price, but i am not to sure about the forks it has the Marzocchi dirt jam comps. They have 120mm of travle but would their performance be any good? I would also like to know of any other bike that would be a good hard tail that you guys could sugest for what i need. :D
What price range are you looking within?.

Super duperly strong! Good geo as well. RRP for frame i think is 1 gorrilla.

Devinci Hucker. Little bit pricier than some comparable bikes. I bought last years frame and it is bulletproof. I've used it for everything, skate parks, 24 hr races, DH, general trail riding and it's been great.

My mate is riding a P1 (04 i think) and the only thing he changed was he bought Rock Shox Psylo SL '04 and he is doing 45ft road gaps with cars parked in the middle. Although it is a single speed all you have to do is put a ring on the front that suits your style and i would take that tensioner of because you don't need it.

How much are you looking at?
The bigfoot is probably not gonna do what you want... the DJ comp forks are pretty average.
I run a '05 Rampage (Z1 FR2 150mm, LX/XTR, 150x12 generic/formula rear hub), basic kit is only 8 spd and comes in at $2199, came off a 10 footer only 2 nights ago... bike is fine... I gotta get a xray and ultrasound for my left shoulder (I think i'm fine, just been riding around the city, think they just want money).
My housemate has a '05 manik (DROP OFF comp 170mm, standard 135 Q/R shimano disc hub), basic kit comes in at $1699, he's taken it off 6 footers no problems, takes it like a beast hungry for more...
The only downside is the sun singletrack rims... they like to blowout on one side. But i think it's more the wheel build more than anything... we both need new rear rims.
They're fantastic bikes for what you get...visit the norco site...
If you don't want to spend so much, then look at the sasquash... runs same drivetrain as the manik and rampage except with deore rear mech, same touhg hussefelt cranks with bash guard, HFX9 8inch rotors front and rear, singletrack rims, 130mm Drop Off Comps (single crown version of the drop off triples, dampened)... and comes in at $1499...
You can't go wrong with a norco. Depends on your budget... but get your forks serviced, and ask for fork fluid, not fork oil. The marzocchi forks I've serviced all seem to have metal filings...
I weigh about 58kg so i can get away with heaps... if you weigh more than 70kg, I'd recommend getting the manik upwards. Also, if you want a manik, get cracking now! because they're a popular bike, I don't think norco have any left, so they're all out in bike shops. But my Rampage has been put through hell and back...

i recon the norco sasquatch is tough to beat, especially if you wanna be able to ride skate parks (its a very difficult thing to do with a double crown fork).
i weigh 110 kg and i'm no fat bastard and i have been beating the crap outa my sasquatch in the park, at the jumps on the downhills, hucks and even xc trail riding. about the only thing that may give you grief down the track is the cheapo shimano rear hub, when it dies just get somthing tough, but what do you expect for the price!
as for metal filings in the oil... that is why you have to service forks. the oil is doing the job it was designed to do. you will find this happens in any oil filled fork on the market

sorry? Are you saying it is normal for there to be metal filings in your oil? I hope not
