hey there
looking for people in the know here
i have an ultegra setup on the back of my bighit and the lx shifter doesnt feel the best anymore and i have been wondering about a sram attack or rocket shiffter.
what are the pros and cons of this setup
differences in the models, quality (i have heard nasty thisng about some sram shiffters), performance etc
thanks in advance

I am currently using some SRAM attack shifters with shimano ders. also have another bike with SRAM X7/X9 set up. been using them for about 6 months now. previously XT pods.
I prefer the SRAM trigger shifters to shimano...mainly due to the use of the thumb feeling more natural and being able to leave my index fingers on the brake levers at all times is...well handy.
I know you didn't ask but...the SRAM shifters designed to work with SRAM rear ders (X9, X7) change flawlessly wheres and 2:1 ratio shifts are sometmes a little less crisp or accurate.
As for reliability of SRAM shifters, not a problem in terms of function. Minor faults tho that i have is one gear indicator stopped working straight away (don't look at them tho) and one attack shifter and one X9 shifter are a pain to change the cable in whereas the others are smooth as. the cable end gets caught on some of the internals (the return spring).
overall though I am sticking with SRAM cos the shifting is so good and the ergonomics are well ahead of shimano.
