Hey all,
Just wondering who's going to be at the Sydney 24 hour this weekend?
Anyone going solo?
What teams have you got organised?
See ya there! :D

Hehehe I was going but both me and my team mate have bailed- We were going as a pair but pulled the pin due to my lack of heart in MTB lately, and him being flat out with final year law studdies.
So No go! I should be up for the 12hr later in the year, and maybe one more of the working weekseries...
I'll be there from Friday evening, riding in a 6 girl team. What team are you in, and what bike you riding? I'll probably be riding a Kona Bear. Come and say g'day!

Dunno what our team name is yet,
We will have 3 teams combined in one base camp.

Greetings everyone. I've now been successfully screwed over for the second endurance event in a row. UGH!
If anyone is looking for a team member, please let me know. I'm not lightning quick, but will pedal forever.
Whether the team is fast/slow/2man/6man ... I don't care. I just wanna ride my bicycular unit.
It's official; I’m sooo going back to 'solo' after this. FUCKIT!
edit: Got a team sorted. Thanks heaps to those who offered. Champs the lot of ya :)

I'll be there, in 4 man (well, dont know if 4 16 year olds would be classed as men.. especially not 1 in particular)
However, it wont be hard to spot us,
rider 1:xtc with king hubs+more cool stuff
me: 05 AC with upgrades, though standard rear shock and forks
rider 3: Avanti Competitor with psylos (now THAT u cannot miss)
rider 4: VT2 with XTR calipers and XT dual controls (poseur anyone?)
come say hi! We arent rebellious teenagers as one may think.

It should be plainly obvious that I am not at the 24 hour as well. My excuse was having spent the last two weekends on a plane travelling to Switzerland and back. I'm glad I made the decision to "rest" this weekend, but I know I'll be missing out on a great time.
See you at the 12 hour! :)

I had a ball.
The track was even better than last year. though i never managed that final ditch as stylish as Mr Cove on the playmate.
Well done to all the trackbuilders, organisers and volunteers.

I dont think I've ever had so much fun,
Weather was perfect
I was my second 24hr so I knew what I was in for,
We ended up finishing 2nd in the mixed fours
3rd place was only 15 minutes behind up
So it was fast and furious for a while
and the female on our team did her first night laps,
Absolutley loved all of the track, except for the corner on the climb,
night time laps were fun with only a 5w on the head,
Sometimes impossible to see throught the dust.
no mechanicals, injuries etc
see you at the WWS #2
boy are my legs sore,

I had a great time!
It was my first ever MTB race. We were part of a 6 person team, not competetive, but we cycled continuously and we all had a great time.
The track was pretty good, if a little too sandy in parts, but after the amount of traffic it had you can't complain. Next time, I will be training a lot harder (actually doing some training ;)) and getting a better helmet mounted light.
Congrats to the organisers and all the volunteers.

Hey all, I had a great weekend too :D
I really enjoyed the track, it was pretty 'flowy'. I sucked on the sandy/rocky section (where you take a left over the pallet from the grassy road and head up) at night, my lights were pretty good but it was hard to gauge the depth of the sand so my balance got a bit screwed!
We had a mixed 4 team, very unorganised :p there were 3 of us on Saturday and the other one on Sunday. But we were doing it for the fun, and took it easy overnight (soft?) we all did one night lap and then just hung around and got some sleep
My sister did a lap, her first ever ride on a mtb, she ended up winning a stack of stuff from Stu who couldn't believe it was not only her first 24 hour event or mtb race, but first ever off-road ride! She's a champ. and she was sick too!
Now I'm heading over to SA for the Fat Tyre Festival, then to Beechworth two weeks after that! Bring it on :D :D :D

sounds like everyone had a lot of fun, the event really had a good atmosphere about it, everyone seemed to be smiling and the band covered a Pixies number!!!!!! you just can't beat that!!
BIG THANKS to everyone who mentioned the course at he w/e and since, great to hear that you liked it
WE put a lot of work in to try and make it flow more than last year, just how good was the rollercoaster after the mesh climb!!! hope to get more singletrack in for next year
loads of good moments and one VERY vivid memory of my un-intentional nose wheelie on 'Big Pink' after the chute at the end!!!!!
