I dunno about 180s, but with manuals, the trick is to just pull up the front hard as you can, and just be ready to grab a little bit of rear brake to stop you flipping. If you can't reach the point where it nearly flips, you're not bringing the front up high enough. With time, manuals become pretty easy...just a case of weight distribution (try and play around with positions, standing, sitting, knee movements etc), balancing, controlling speed through light braking, and with time, you might be able to be turning corners or going around obstacles while manualling ;) Just practice practice practice, and don't be scared to get that front wheel up into the sky, just be ready for the bikes willingness to flip!

Standing is the only position for manuals. It's not a manual if you're sitting down. Stand up, keep your arse down near the rear tyre and try and not to use the brake. Shift your weight by bending your knees.

I couldn't do them to save my life so I just went out and practised for a few hours. When I started I couldn't make it 2m. A few hours later they were out to 30m.

With manuals do people put the front brake on?
Does it help or not?

Well, if the front wheel is in the air, the front brake isn't going to make much difference, apart from stopping the wheel moving midair... which, apart from a bit of rotational force...won't make much difference...

No. It's easier to balance if the front wheel is spinning.

with manuals (comeing from somebody who cant manual..lol), but i ahve been told by the person who can manual to the point where he looses momentum and literealy stays on the spot then weaves his way back up to speed, try get the majority of your body behind you rear axle. .. if that makes sense..
and also, technically the front wheel spinning should give you move balance, but i doubt you can really notice it.

and 180 disatster, i am assume you are talking about the ramp trick where you 180 then stall on copin on bashie, if you are thats one i can help out on kinda, ride up the ramp, slighty rotate towards your chocolate foot (kind of preload?), then when you bunny hop at the lip, roate your upper body with the required force needed to 180, then push down at coping when perpindicular, stall then push down front wheel on to ramp, flick up the rear so you dont kase the coping.. and of you go... well thats what i do i think.

readin stuff like this doesnt really hlp alot, you need to see it have it explained to you in person etc..
