Dont know if anyone is using this (I am!) but check this out:

Apparently it clicks all links before you do to pre-cache them, including "delete this" or "launch nuclear attack" buttons..

Yeah and they're also using it for gathering information on users in clandestine spy-ware fashion to more accurately target their context-based ads, fuckers.

Remember, Google aren't all smiles and sunshine and jellybeans falling from the fricken' sky. They're a massive company with lots of money who are fixing to make themselves lots more money.

I'd advise people who browse forums a lot not to use it, I can see it putting some serious strain on our webserver if everyone on farkin.net changed over to using it.

maybe they got bad karma??

This would have made people all over the world rack their brains to remember the name of another search engine :D :D :D

Google shuts down for 15 minutes

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - Googling stopped for 15 minutes on Saturday.

The world's leading internet search engine shut down from 6:45 to 7 p.m. eastern time, according to Google spokesman David Krane.

"It was not a hacking or a security issue," said Krane. He said the problem was related to the DNS, or Domain Name System, though Krane did not elaborate. The DNS translates domain names for computers.

"Google's global properties were unavailable for a short period of time," Krane said. "We've remedied the problem and access to Google has been restored worldwide."

On Wednesday, the company, based in Mountain View, launched its Web Accelerator service. It's intended to speed access to Web pages by offering cached or compressed copies of sites from Google's servers. There are an estimated 200 million Google searches a day.
