Can anyone explain how to put a chainguide on?
Do you take the crank arm off and the bottom braket or what?

for most chainguides, you must first take off the crank arm using a crank extractor ( when you put it back on, be sure to put it even with the other arm)
next, you'll see your BB, with no crank arm, and you'll see a narrow washer (silver probably) between the outside of the frame and inside of the BB.
you must take this outside part off, remove the washer, and put your chainguide in where the washer was. then retighten it, AFTER you have decided what angle etc etc you want your guide to be at. you will most likely have to tighten it to the fram using 2 small screws also. then just put your bash guard and chainring back on, and put you crank arm back on.
this is how my chainguide worked, so it isnt necessarily how your's works.
the only speciality tools you'll need are a crank extractor, a 9mm allen for the crank arms, a BB tool, and an allen wrench for smaller screws.
good luck :D
