At the risk of being labelled boring, are there any DVDs out there where people aren't trying to neck themselves off 12 ft drops?

Im after some XC race footage...Maybe highlights of Olympics etc. that sort of thing...But cant seem to find any out there...Im sure Im not the only one

Any ideas where to look?
Cheers

Not really sure... I'm sure that you could buy something on the 2005 Nationals, I taped the stuff they put on sbs and it was great! They had 4x, xc and dh. And the good thing was... it was mainly xc FOR A CHANGE!!!
All's good ;)

I've been looking for exactly this and found it! Off road to Athens follows the journeys of the usa shadow olympic team in their preperations for the 2004 olympic games, as soon as i find out ow i'll be buying this dvd cos the trailer looks awesome.

Check it out at: offroadtoathens.com

Off road to Athens looks cool, i wouldnt mind checking out some more XC dvds. I saw some of the footage from the Mt. Buller XC race on sbs, and sometimes on Foxtel on Fuel channel they have shown some of the european XC racing.

Something different than my huck vids.

Try cycling.tv - it's a mostly free online TV station devoted to cycling as has all the UCI world cup rounds and other excellent stuff! It also does video on demand and yes it's free!!! You'll want a fairly burly internet speed and it doesn't work so well on Mac's gadammit!!

Although it's a little dated, Chainsmoke had a bit of XC in it, mixed with other disciplines.

It's funny watching XC on videos accompanied by really heavy music (as you'll see in Chainsmoke). It seems out of place.... :p

You might be able to find the video very cheaply now too!

Hope that helps, Rhys

you have to be joking... nine times out of ten when any mountain bike race is on TV, say for a half hour show it will be 5 mins fourcross, 20 mins XC, and 5 mins downhill.

ok that might be a slight exaduration but you definatly cant say xc coverage has ever been lacking in those programs...

You're right though, whenever they have TV coverage thats about the ratio.

And can I tell you how exciting it is watching a bloke pedal up a hill.

No, I'm not into watching XC footage(can you tell?), what is best to see, and is coming to the fore in the last couple of years, see Earthed, Synopsis etc, is DH RACING. That is good footage. Seeing the lines, body language, skills is great.

I agree Huckfests get pretty boring pretty quick.
