The only reason Naz posted before me in a "new parts" thread is because I can't afford to buy new bike parts anymore

it's a good feeling huh...

i have recently bolted on some Hope Mono 6ti's that i scored for 900 both ends. i love them ssooo much! i got them from ray in thredbo, and did a day and a half worth of runs, before i crashed heavily and screwed my right shoulder big time. they had to drive up in the nrma truck to pick me up coz i couldnt ride.

i still haven't fully recovered yet, and it happened 2.6 weeks ago!

lol, but the brakes rule, and i'm looking forward to some new pedals and after that bars.

I bought a CHRIS KING headset
I am confused because I have Marzocchi exr comps.... why didn't i save to buy forks?? so its up for sale

I also got hayes XC MAG's both ends new :D
I bought second hand hayes MX-1 with avid sd7 levers, and honestly avid knows how to make levers. awesome before i make the transition into the hydros. The first time i used hydros i almost DIED  boy MX-1 are twice as good as the shimano mechanical, imagine how awesome the mags would be?

Also picked up avid single digit 5 v brakes for me other bike, work as well as the shimano mechanical deore :) but no weight and a piece of cake to adjust.

Last but not least I scored myself a truvativ boxguide. wont install it untill later this year, would proberly end up breaking it coz i land on my bash guard alot..... im a newb  i might even sell it

Well...

I just got my Hayes Mags (which are a shitload better than my old Hope 6 pots, and almost as good as my silver M4s were).
Ordered my new DHX 5.0 today, and i'll finally have a decent chainguide by the weekend to (MRP system 1 slalom- death to shithouse e13s and their damn incompatability with Yeti).

You sure do change your mind a lot.

From http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=24419&highlight=guide , "E13 are definately the best guide going. I've had numerous dramas with an aireal (they lose the chain under compression) and blackspires (same design as aireal, but not as well designed).

The E13 on the other hand, is amazing. I have derailled it once in 18 months of riding (full bottom out + crank flex and the chain jammed) but it works so well in the mud, in the rocks, in the dirt, and on the street. You can slam the coping hard enough to warp the spider, yet the guide still runs true. "

I've had 2 derailments in 2 race runs, not to mention another 4 or 5 riding locally. I'm pretty sure that the E13 doesn't mate to the Yeti that well at all, whereas i never had a drama in its 18 (wait, 20 with the Peeler) months. Something fishy is going on there, despite the chainguide being constantly spaced out.

If you could help me, that would be great, but even when the back plate is as close to the chain as possible it still derails. The shop hasn't been able to help either.

I have a feeling this is a problem is with the bike, because the bike works perfectly with an MRP. But for this incompatability issue (which i might add, i was unaware of before i ran the yeti), it seems to me that the MRP is more compatable than the E13, and from my experience, is sslightly more reliable on certain bikes.

Then again, the Yeti seems to have a pretty weird setup, in that the Small frames struggle to clear certain shocks while the XS, M and L frames work fine with specific shocks.

But wait, given that you are the fountain of bike knowledge, tell me oh wise one, how shall my E13 work on this frame?

EDIT: Not to mention that the E13 worked perfectly on my Hardtail- it was quiet and super stiff... and as i've said before i've landed on the casing, bent my spider, but the guide still runs perfectly.

EDIT 2: And go ahead, get the rest of my quotes bagging Hayes, but they're still a shitload better than Hope Mono 6 tis.

new external casings for my rear mech line (hey big spender) and some good ol fashioned servicing is on the agenda tomoro..

otherwise the d8 is running smooth as a whistle and doesnt really need any new gear...

Email e13 support@e13components.com (support@e13components.com) (would almost certainly help if you have pics of the setup from a few angles) and ask... 99% sure they will be able to tell you what's wrong. I can't say I've ever tried to set up an e13 (or anything at all for that matter) on a Yeti.
