with all due respect to those who edit MTB mags, most are pretty sterile.
I dont enjoy the US mags because they have outrageous amounts of ads in them, most aussie mags are a bit sterile (bar clict)
and UK mags are usually incredibly biased towards their product. (please dont flame, its personal opinion) except dirt.
most MTB mags also have shit photography. except dirt again/

dirt, for sure. nothing else comes close. imo, revolution kills clict hands down, and takes the crown among the oz mags. bike, from the states, used to rock, back in the day. man, i used to love that mag. mad props to them, i reckon, for pioneering as regards quality mtb photography. mind you, i haven't bought an issue in about seven years, so i've no idea what it's like these days.

I love DIRT as well, it has the right blend of design, photography and content, which makes it easier for me to part with my dough.
What Mountain Bike is also ok by me, i think they have reasonably good reviews and content. I usually get more than a few reads out of each one.
I hate Mountain Biking UK, that mag is like the Smash Hits of the mtb bike mag world. It's like reading a music video, if you get my drift. But then it's targeted at the kiddies so they probably love it.

Decline is my favorite magazine and then Dirt comes in a close second. The rest of the magazines on the market are geared more towards XC riding with a little DH.
I'm okay with the ads, that's how the magazines pay their bills...
fave mag of of all time??
for cycling: Singletrack & Dirt Rag. (plus the early issues of Bike)
"other": Action Now (b'cause the Feb 1981 issue was the first print media to cover mtbing... I have the issue sitting on my table) Escape (now sadly deceased), Outside (but a little too much "Americanism" for me) and Nat' Geo' Adventure.
Not to hijack here... but how about your fave' video/movie?
My pick goes to Dogtown/Z-boys.

Dirt, hands down easily the best.
Every now and then I get suckered into buying MTB UK (usually becuase Dirt hasn't been out for a while) and I nearly always regret it. Even when I first flick through it and it looks like it's going to be reakly good issue, once I actually read the articles they have all the meat of a vege pizza!
It's funny how you guys all rate Clict & Revolution so highly. Not to diss these at all, because they have put out a great product, but it ain't too hard to put out only one or two issues of a magazine in, mmm, how long?

Same with me.
When i was in the UK, I bought a few MBUK's. They were a good read but are cluttered with ads, and it was "Steve Peat did this" and "Rob Warner said that". Still, has some good reviews.

Dirt is, hands down, the best MTB mag out there (DH based). Clict is a pretty good read but suffers at the hands of an appalling designer.
Dirt looks brilliant - easily the best designed mag out there, is chockas with articles and great pics and each issue the interviews are great - they actually devote some serious page time to riders like the Don, Vanderham, Barel etc.
I got into Decline for a while and then realised I was paying $15 for a Mag that looks cool, but full of nothing much.

dirt is the best!!!!!!!!!
for me dirt is by far the best moubtai bike mag. it offers everything, from great articles, to the best pics out htere. It also has enough adds to inorm you whats out there, but not a ridiculous amount. But out fo hte aussie magazines, though none pf them compare to dirt, Clict and AMB are great. Bot of these mags are great for diferet reasons. AMB has great reviews, especially the latest one! and clict is just a great home grown mag.
Unfortuntely o aussie mag has ever compared with the amazinf dirt mag's, these have by far the best pics, and some of the bet articles! I also agree that the MBUK mags absolutely suk, and they are just steve peat obsessed.

yeh dirt wins it overall- however if we could replicate it into a an aussie version (keeping same length, quality, and good photos) then that would be the jackpot.
i like amb a lot because of its reviews on numerous bikes, and the how to section, and then the repair bit. also it being local gives it a few points, though the problem about amb is it has too much xc in it.
clict has the general jist about things being a bit of everything. though the articles can be lacking.
theres my opinion.

yeah, dirt is great.
decline is okay, its got good pics, but nothing else.
mbuk is crap. in a 120 page issue (if not more), there is an average og 1 good article.
AMB, man that's a sad story! Oz's only regular mtb magazine, and they are loosing the plot. they used to be pretty good, and i was subscribed, but i haven't been keen to subcribe for a while because they have had no good content for a while. the 'when fear attacks' article was a bit novel, but it didn't teach me anything new or surprise me or anything. the whole way through i was waiting for the punch.
last issue was appauling! normally with a mag you can read it a few times, but with this, it was a one time only deal. such a shame, wll, hopefully the next issue will put all us bitchers into our place!
Clict and Ravolution are good, but like someone said, they make what, an issue every season? if that.
Cheers,
Sam
My fav would have to be AMB, although it has been getting crapper

My vote goes to Dirt, with Clict and Revolution vying for second place.
Wish they'd both put out issue 3 though...
