thirsty merc - summertime, someday someday, emancipate myself, katie q
crowded house/split enz - i got you, better be home soon, don't dream its over, fall at your feet
the angels - am i ever gonna see your face again

the living end - bloody mary, roll on, prisoner of society
kylie minogue <-- for her fine arse (any comments?) (spinning around - aka the hotpants video clip)

The only one after a quick peak at what you guys have wrote that is worth listening to is AC/DC..... Yeah Pete, TNT pride!!!! Woot Core!!!
But for me, I stick to punk and some other random crap....
FRENZAL RHOMB - You Are Not My Friend, You Are A Knob, Let's Drink A Beer, Mum Changed The Locks, Mr Charisma, Bucket Bong, Punch In The Face, My Pants Keep Falling Down...... Oh god the list goes on.....
28 Days - What's The Deal (Yeap thats all for 28 Days)
Baah i'll list some more, maybe, later......
Cheers
EDIT* Forgot hip/hop (I don't like it that much, not even sure if all these guys are aussie)
BiasB
Scribe (yes they are NZ, but thats close enough to be AUS)
and the guys that sing that song where at the start it goes "Yo yo makky where yo at where yo at?" Hilarious song but they have heaps of other good ones, just i'm to lazy to borrow the CD of my mate.
Cheers

cog, anything apart from the new normal... it's new, i'm hoping it'll grow on me, but after seeing they're album launch at the metro...
other than that, bobsledge.
any of you northern beaches guys on here over the age of 18, should really do yourselves a favour and go see bobsledge on the 21'st may at the fisho's.
really, they are bloody good.

The Hanging Tree, S/T (one of the guy's from COG's old band)
The new I Killed The Prom Queen EP (can't remember what it's called, and it's out in the car so I'm not going to go out there and look)
Shot Point Blank, Heart of a Disbeliever
Alchemist, Australalien
These are the ones currently on my high rotation list (ie in my car), but don't be fooled that I only listen to Hardcore and Metal, lots of Aussie hip hop, classic pub rock, (AC/DC, Angels, tatts) & punk (saints, Radio Birdman) and straight out pop make it on there too sometimes!

AcDc - Back in Black, the whole album
Hilltop Hoods - Nosebleed section has to be one of the best songs ever!
Grinspoon - Early stuff, none of this new trendy stuff
Powderfinger - Most stuff, Internationalist is a highlight
Ben Lee - (He is australian isnt he?)

Powderfinger rate as one of my favourite all-time aussie bands. Most of their songs have a sense of timelessness that makes them sound fresh nearly every time you hear them.
You Am I are just about the same for me as well. I really like their style and consistency, plus they rock live!!
Something for Kate make the kind of music that makes me feel smarter and more thoughtful, not sure why!?!
I used to like The Fauves but they seemed to disappear for a while, haven't heard much from them for ages.
Dave Graney always makes me smile cos he is the coolest dude his age i have ever seen!
And Nick Cave is another who i have big respect for, he just keeps on keeping on without losing much of jis touch.
These are just a few that spring to mind, there are many more but i can't remember at the moment.
Cheers.
has anyone heard xavier rudd live??

Def FX: No Time for Nowhere, Crystallize.
When Def FX did their lightspeed collision tours in 1993 they were at their peak. Still hadn't really broken through yet and most of the gigs were pretty small but they absolutely tore it up live. With the release of "Post Moronic" they kind of lost the magic and were never the same. The first 3 EP's and Lightspeed Collision are really them at their best
Falling Joys: Winters Tale, Psychohum
Clouds: Hieronymus, Immorta, Say It, Wichita Lineman

and the guys that sing that song where at the start it goes "Yo yo makky where yo at where yo at?"2 Up - Why Do I Try So Hard.
Big payout on shopping mall homies. Love it.
favourites:
Grinspoon - preferably their older stuff, from Easy and Guide To Better Living - but it's all pretty good.
Jet (you're only over them because they get too much radio play)
Bodyjar
Frenzal Rhomb
Boy Meets Ground (punkrock - mates from primary school)
The Spark
The Lyrical Madmen (ska - mates from Scouts)
The Casino Rumblers (hardcore ska/rockabilly) - these guys are crazy... stuff like the double bass player balances on top of it while playing.
Area-7 - have gone a little obscurely pro-political recently, but their older stuff is good.
Johnson - more funk than you can handle. (Kitoff is the drummer too)
The Porkers (ska - are playing the Empire Hotel Annandale / Manly Fishos in June!)
John Farnham
John Williamson
all of which I have seen live - the last 4 on multiple occasions.
Music is so much better live - get into it!
The Living End
28 Days
Jebediah
Muzzy Pep
just getting into Cog - haven't heard a lot of their stuff yet.
AC/DC - gotta love bogan rock goodness.
