Don't ask me how, but I came across this discussion about GripSport on a Swedish MTB site

http://happymtb.org/forum/read.php/1/190854

and I'd love to know what they're saying. Not a full translation, but if you can help with the overall "gist" of it I'd be interested.

Cheers

one moment please.

first post:
Is the some as has succeeded few a cracked aluminum framework repaired? Has consulted that the “will” goes to weld, but has never consulted how the result become. Some as knows some good svetsare in stockholmsområdet that can handle aluminum?

reference to j00:
Hello CalleB!

Was has the framework cracked? Had alone a GT DHi that was welded twice. The consequence became that the cracked in new svetsen or exactly beside svetsen. This despite that the also is placed on an alu-förstärkning in order to relieve svetsen and the area around svetsen as let becomes weakened of the heat from svetsen.

Before the framework, other time was welded had I a part contact with Easton, as produced the tubes in the framework and the said so clearlily that one willed not weld. I had also contact with GT in Usa, but got no help of them (entire pc had I of course wanted to have a new batch triangle…) And Rex that is importörer in Sweden each entirely ignorant and did not have any desire at all to help to despite several deliberations and mail (the each correct sour bold tonne and should almost explode in the air, or in all cases to hangout themselves debris bikes and not delicate MTBs).

An as I mailade with is a snubbe that is called Jon Weaving on [www.gripsport.com.au], he exists also on the forum on www.farkin.net (but do not remember what he is called there). Grabbing sport repairs many bikes and the seems as those sheep the to hold (although not I might the). He uses himself always of some mould of strengthening (checks the pictures on his homepage). Here, his replies are on my letter, that contains a lot of good INFO (the he typed each coloured reds and is inlagt between my questions, but I believe enough you understand what I typed and what he replied):

My Swedish consists of only a few swear words, but the machine translation here http://www.systransoft.com/index.html might help you get the gist if no one that speaks or reads shows up.

Bloody hell, don't you guys ever go outside and play? That was WAY too quick not to be suspicious!

Seriously though, many thanks to Toop for the effort and alchemist for the link (that is now bookmarked)... I never new such a site existed. Of course I still don't know if the Swedes think I'm a champ or a tosser.... and I'd like to end the discussion on that right here. ;)

Cheers

I think the machine translation didn't give give you the gist of the conversation.
I think, loosely translated, they were saying:

"This Grip fella is deadset tops, he can fix pushi's like no bastard in
sweden can. I think we should all just stick to playing tennis, driving small cars and speaking funny, and send all our busted stuff to Australia. Then, we should send our six foot blonde women to pleasure him as a reward."

okie dokie. My swedish is limited to asking women if they play for the swedish volleyball team (long story) but I sent this link a mate who is pretty decent at Swedish and his general interpretations were:
Mostly asking how it is done.
Asking for any details
Talking about the damage that can be repaired
Saying it looks like a good idea/impressed as to what can be done.

This is only what he decipherd but I hope it helps...He didn't tell me about any bad-mouthing goin on so I assume you got away scott free Grip.

Funny mental picture...Grip walking around the race pits with a 6' swedish chick on each arm..kehe (no offence Grip)

Hope that helped.

Thanks all.

Simo... yep I gets away wiz it once agin;)

And Johnny, thanks for the offer but I have enough trouble keeping up with the work from OZ. We're starting to get more and more coming from OS already and while it's impossible to knock it back (reputation for service goes down the drain) it can make life more complicated so I think I'll give Nordic Promotion a miss.

I met a cute little swedish chick last night who could tell you what it's all about however, I could barely understand what she was talking about mosta the time.....but then again there are more important things than that.
