It's a single speed.
It's got a gyro.
It's got rim brakes.
It's got pegs.
Just suck it up and ride a fucking BMX for fuck's sake. Argh! It's not a step in the right way for MTB, it's just a step towards another sport...

im sorry, maybe we should just stop dirtjumping and riding street. we might look like bmx'ers!
I think it's a step in the right direction! They've gone out and done pretty much what alot of people would dream about, making a street-worthy bike with big wheels and a bit of suspension. Not everyone wants to ride a 20"er.
This forums a way of expressing opinions right? thats my opinion. If your going to ride street why dont you do it on a bmx. Because that bike is for street do anything else on it and its not going to last to long. I dont hate street riding i even street ride myself on my bike and where did dirt jumping come into this. That bike has moved the sport closer to bmx you cant disagree with that... its a big bmx with like 2mm of travel...if your gonna do that buy a DK General Lee and put blacks on it probly work out better for an all rounder bike and street machine wouldnt be that much more money probably.

I think it looks good, but i don't like the pegs, cos i think pedal grinds r way cooler, wish i could do em!!
[QUOTE="Bender is CRAZY"]I think it looks good, but i doni agree, pegs are a bit over the top
well i'm pretty sure now my next bike will be a cromo single speed with rim brakes and have a giro and probably 2 pegs...
...and 20 inch wheels

Easy there tiger, we're all expressing opinions, no need to get so defensive...
Anyway, all this talk about getting closer to bmx, who really cares in the end, I see it as riding and having fun, there's no need to go drawing lines between MTB, BMX and every other discipline, it's all riding.
To me, it just looks like a 24" DJ'er with the angles tweaked to suit the suspension. It won't be long at all until BMX companies jump on the bandwagon. As for the fork, I'll be interested to see them when they land in .au, it might be perfect for what I want, and I also like the idea of it capable of taking pegs!

there has been 24" BMX's long before MTBs were born, they are called "cruisers"
personally a dont give a shit, they are both different and trust me theres never going to be a downhill BMX!
I primarily ride BMX, but i dont mind a bash in the bush on my friends duallie, something i cant do on my bike, well very easily anyway.
I dont care if they are merging, each different sport has its own extremes the other cant get near really.
My priority is having fun, like most others and as long as it has 2 wheels and pedals its still a bike! :)

I can't believe this. First of all DHers shouldn't wear lycra because that's too much like XC or road, instead they should wear moto or BMX style stuff. Just out of intrest, how many of you guys have a DJ helmet, the skate style ones? I'm pretty sure that they're a BMX thing too, so you had better ditch those, along with the 24" wheels so many hardtail riders have because a real mtb runs 26".
So rim brakes aren't right on a mountain bike now? Well shit, we better scrap the vast majority of 26" wheeled bikes out there because they still run V brakes.
Here's an interesting bit of info for you too, DK have released a 26" version of the General Lee, it's effectively a single speed, rigid mtb. You know why they did it? Because some BMXers have realised that having larger wheels which roll better on rough surfaces can be an advantage, and opens up a whole new range of tricks.
Get over yourselves.

There has been downhill bmxes... in the oldskool days

as long as people are riding and enjoy it, it's alllll good............... apart from those XC lycra weenies (joke, joke) :P

Ok, I really don't buy into this whole "Just buy a BMX debate". Riders on big wheels and suspension are opening up a whole new world of street lines that aren't available to the 20" crew, pushing the perceived limits of street bike riding in a new direction and showing us all a whole new, fun way to ride our bikes in an environment that's not necessarily familiar to MTB riders.
The idea of a company building a street-specific bike is a great one if you ask me, anyone who's taken their regular DJ bike to the streets knows what an unholy toll street riding can take on what's already considered a 'tough' MTB. I've personally cut back on the amount of street riding (particularly grinding) I've been doing of late just because it's been beating the shit out of my bike.
Oh yeah and you've all missed the best feature of those new Marz forks...THE BOLT ON ARCH IS BACK!! PRAISE THE MTB GODS!!!

to whoever said there isn't downhill bmx racing, woodward has a competition every year. big burly jumps and the works.
personally i reckon the p.street looks rad. and if you gave me a choice between the Fuse IV (specialized's top of the line bmx for 04) and the P.Street it would be a super hard choice.

yeah there was one a few months ago,
i saw pics in a dirt magazine,
massive jumps.
There was a DHBMX at X-Games just last week, the jumps in this race are fricken retarded big. Check out www.xgames.com to see some pics.
i personally would love to ride bmx
but whenever i attempt to ride one it would take quite a few hrs to get used to the small wheels
so that i would attempt even the smallest of jumps
now coming of a big bike onto something like this is much less off a step, i think its good for ppl who want a second bike but their big bike is still their main ride

Funny, looks like a suspension fork to me....
As for the pegs and stuff, I really don't understand how grinds (sprocket etc.) can be cool, but parts designed especially to allow you to grind are not cool, and how barspins can be cool, but gyro's are not cool....

I agree. I find BMXes to be cramped and too small for me, I wouldn't mind something like that.
