Don't know if anyone has done this for a while but i was curious to know what sort of full face helmets you guys (gals) wear ?
what makes yours so good
and which ones you think are not worth putting your head into !
so keep it clean and then come out fighting 8)

TLD D2.
Came from an Azonic FF for pure wank reasons, but the D2 is noticebly lighter, and has much better ventilation. The integrated Speed Wing acts like the dual shelled helmets Briko make offering heaps of air flow. Unfortunantly very $$$ but compared to others, it's worth it.
Oh yeah, They look awesome!

I've got an old Bell Bellistic. It's plain chrome and was doanted by Oppy cos I was racing in my XC lid. Am looking at buying a new helmet soon tho. Does anyone know if you're allowed to race in Giro Switchblades? I don't know if they count as a full face or not.

Bell Rhythm Pro woth Troy Lee visor. They are cheap and still good quality. If I was buying a new one now I would get a Mad maxII, they fit my head a bit better and when the new stock arrives they will be available in Army green, Hell yeah!

Oneal MX helmet. If it's DOT certified (street legal), it'll definitely do the job on the trails. (Plus, at the right MX shop, it's actually cheaper than buying some non-street legal full-face MTB helmets).
Legions of BMX racers can't be wrong...
Of course, there is the weight issue...

ive got a netti red machine!!! i dont know the name off it got it for 50 bucks off a friend so that was pretty cool. its got a heap of lame ass stickers on it so its got some character now....not to mention the couple of nasty scars on top of it. luckily i have had my biggest crashes in it. oh yeah d2's are THE bomb. a friend put a d2 visor on a mad max 2 and it looks sooooo mad. i heard d2s are like 800 bucks or something stupid.

Old style sparkly silver Netti AXN (like $220 worth at the time i think...)
Curves look crazy, nice finish, hand layered fiberglass shell AND visor (none of this flimsy snappy snappy plastic :)) -landed headfirst firstly on the visor in a rockgarden and has nothing but scratches from the rocks...-
, comfortable and comes with an easy clip buckle instead of those sometimes fiddly D-rings.
One thing is theyre a little shorter, and some people could get claustrophobic lol with the chin guard as close to their face as on these.

Hey, was the Switchblade that helmet that had the removeable mouth-guard? Was there problems with that helmet? I always thought it was a great idea (I kinda wanted one too...)

The biggest problem with them was that people expected (quite reasonably I think, due to the marketing) them to protect in a similar fashion to a proper moulded full face, which they did not. The chin guard just wasn't rigid enough and had a nasty habit of snapping off under heavy impacts.
switchblades (i imagine) would be pretty handy for something like the snow where you are mainly looking for protection from branches and sticks that you have to duck or from scraping on racks and hard snow as you fall. of course if you do a nice face plant, roll or fall down a cliff (trust me, it alllll hurts :P ) your stil gonna eat shit.
TLD D2 - white with red/black flames
Was a birthday present from my bird. Beats my old cracked 661 Full Bravo.

Just a little bit of info I thought you guys might find interesting: a bunch of Bell and Giro helmets failed Aus standards approval (don't think the full faces did though) so they have to be modified, and guess who's supplying the new parts? Rosebank. So be careful who you bag.
Flow: which other boards do you frequent, and do you go by another name?
I'm thinking about getting a Netti AXN, just for the occasional city ride, so don't want to spend much money. What do you guys reckon of it?

Apparatus - 661 Full Bravo Carbon, flame paintjob (current model)
Method - tried on about 9 different helmets. Only this one fits the way i want a full face to fit.
Conclusion - i have a weird shaped head.

Dicky, you think you've got it bad, when I was getting my exodus I was told by the boys at the authority that if my head gets any bigger, I'm going to have to stop riding!

Maybe they were sick of you talking yourself up, and were suggesting to bail out before someone clocks you one :P

Hahaha, nah, I know that I can't ride for shit. They also gave me shit about the size of my feet and hands, but hey, I'm not ashamed
