HooooT!
Looks fast, especially in red!
One question though, why the flatbar?

Yeh it does go kinda fast because of the red... don't all red bikes go faster?

As for the flat bar, its on there partly cos i had it in the garage, but also cos i like them (better control when climbing, quicker handling....etc).
Just Preference i suppose.

That is a really, really nice ride.

I like how you haven't tried to build it up so light that you'd be replacing parts monthly due to breakage. Great quality light parts that will take XC abuse no problems.

As for the frame it's great to see a steel XC bike.

Oh and if it was mine not only would I be running a flat bar but their is a fair chance i'd have a inverted stem also.

That's a very sweet looking ride, I really like the colour. Nice to see a Salsa, makes a change from all the Alu XC bikes getting round these days.

I agree. Salsa is spiffy! And pretty exotic out here!

Hot dang...

I lusted over one of those frames for quite a while... but then someone bought it, so I may drool over it at work no longer.

Nice rig mate.

One thing though, MOVE THOSE LEVERS IN!
(unless you like braking with your pinkies...)
Set 'em up so that your index finger falls naturally on the outer end of the blade.
You've got plenty of power there for one-fingered braking.
