yea you can only time where you might have problems is when you have one of teh mrp guides designed for a bashguard on both sides of the ring, beacuse the e thirteen is so thick, the crank bbolts arnt long enough and you cant use the basguard on the inside, oh and it would most likely be a different size too :P

Nah mate, won't work. The box guide is designed to be run either with just a chainring (no bashy) or with a truvative bashy designed to run futher out to miss the box part of the box guide. Some people take the front part of the guide off, but I'd just get yourself the truvative bashy. Seems to work reasonably.

i think i might try that j5ive , but i could space the bashy out couldnt i ?

Not really, the way it transfers impacts etc to the crank is via the steps on the spider that it sits on (in addition to the chainring bolts). Spacing it out would not be a good idea.
What you *might* be able to do is file away the bottom half of the "box" part where the bashy would pass through. If you could do that accurately enough, it *might* work (I haven't tried it, just an idea).

so cutin the top box so that it doesnt curl might be a possibility ?

I run a box guide with e thirteen but had to customize box guide. I can send you some pics if you like.

Ok well here's the deal
The E-13 bashguard has quite a large diameter.
Now to make it fit you would need to grind down the bottom of the box quite a bit, but that might defeat the purpose of the boxguide.
You might be able to grind down the bashguard, but i'm not sure.
If your doing it for pure bling, anyone of these options is gonna make it look bad, grinding looks chat!!
Hope I got it right and I hope it helps you.

hey grant, anything will work if you have a file, or if your lazy a bench grinder :)

how good does it work ?! Lots of filing and a bit of pissing around but runs really well.

Nah, as you can see from ojiki's pics, the boxguide only has to take the place of the backing plate and top slider - the chainring and bashy make up the 3rd and 4th sides of the "box" that now ensures the chain isn't going anywhere.

chainguide $350
bashguard alone $59
a lot of people just get the bashguards as its so much cheaper, especially if they already have a chain guide

OOHHHHh SnAp!! , i consider the top box to be to flexi allowing the chain sumtimes to come out , so replacing the side of the boxguide with the bash guard will hopefully prevent the chain coming off ( My Theory)

Sorry for the grave dig guys, no really i am :p
After seeing the sucess of some people mounting a e-13 bashie on a truv boxguide. I got a few quiestions.
a) Does the guide need any 'MAJOR' physical tampering. If so, how much needs to be taken away/shaped.
b) Does the bottom roller stick out far enough that it will get in the way of a larger bashie. For instances im thinking about running a 32-40t bashie, will it interfere?
c) Does this reletivly cheap guide work??
And before you guys tell me to just go get a e-13 and be with it, im straped for $$, can get a new boxguide for almost absolutly nothing, and a supercharger quite cheap, qouting a dude on the first page, something like $59 from a bike shop here?
