Hey folks

i'm gonna be rippin up whistler over the next few months and its time for me to say good bye to my beloved ht and go full squish at last.

i'm not looking for a dedicated dh bike as i'm more into freeride (drops, gaps, ns) and the bike needs to pedal.

i've got a max of $3000 (AUD) for frame/fork combo to spend and i'll be buying it in canada.

i'm looking at around 8 inches of travel, i'm 70kg and 170cm so i could probably get away with 7".

i've thought about second hand, i'm sure there's a lot in circulation in bc and i could get some good deals but i can't help but think :S second hand snap no more bike no more money.... so lets keep it to frames and forks i can afford NEW.

cheers,
owen

Norco, Brodie, Rocky Mountain, Kona if you have to... They're all canadian and presumably cheap over there.. I would seriously consider buying second hand though, I hear the second hand market is great over there - lots of bargains.. Then again, who knows if some 120kg fat man was riding your bike on the north shore every day? Just have a look round and see whats out there. Maybe find a shop that sells second hand stuff they've already checked over if you're not confident on your own?
